Former President Donald Trump topped a new survey among Epoch Times readers.

A poll asked readers to choose their five favorite presidents of all-time. Ninety-five percent chose Trump, who left office in January, as one of their top five.

The late Ronald Reagan came in second. The 40th president, who was in office from 1981 to 1989, was picked by over eight out of 10 respondents.

Two other presidents were popular choices. They were George Washington, the first president of the country, and Abraham Lincoln, who ended slavery with the Emancipation Proclamation. Both were chosen by over seven out of 10 readers.

The top four choices were strong nationalists who championed individual rights and limited government. All were Republicans except for Washington, who saw two parties emerge during his presidency.

Former President Thomas Jefferson rounded out the top five, but was picked by only 36 percent of respondents. He slightly edged former President John F. Kennedy, who was picked by 32.7 percent. Former Presidents Theodore Roosevelt and Dwight D. Eisenhower were picked by about 18 percent of respondents.

Readers also chose their five least favorite presidents. The most chosen were all Democrats, though several Republicans were in the next five.

Former President Barack Obama topped the list, with 95 percent putting him among their least favorite. President Joe Biden, who succeeded Trump, was a close second, with 89 percent.

Former President Bill Clinton, who served for eight years beginning in 1993, was chosen by 73 percent of respondents.

Former Presidents Jimmy Carter and Lyndon B. Johnson rounded out the top five, followed by George W. Bush, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Richard Nixon, George H.W. Bush, and Woodrow Wilson.

Over 128,000 readers filled out the survey, including over 72,000 subscribers. The online poll ran from Feb. 9 through Feb. 21.

The Epoch Times noted that Siena College’s 2018 ranking of all U.S. presidents had Trump in its bottom five, along with former Presidents Franklin Pierce, Warren Harding, James Buchanan, and Andrew Johnson.

On the other hand, Trump tied with Obama in 2019 as the most admired man in a Gallup poll, and overtook Obama the following year.

“Maybe it’s because Siena College’s rankings were compiled by academics. Maybe it’s because Gallup has a larger sample size. But we think this discrepancy is worth taking another look at. So we’ve decided to set up a ranking of our own—based on feedback from Americans like you,” readers were told.

A gun-rights organization said that President Joe Biden's gun control proposal would potentially make about 105 million law-abiding gun owners into criminals.

“While we can agree that there are several ‘common sense’ and long overdue changes needed to our nation’s gun laws, we firmly believe that the path forward should be focused on supporting and protecting responsible, law-abiding Americans—not criminalizing and punishing them,” the U.S. Concealed Carry Association said in a letter to Biden this week.

The group—which, according to the group’s website,, has about 556,000 members—said the president’s push for gun control on the anniversary of the Parkland, Florida mass shooting was needless.

“The U.S. Concealed Carry Association exists to help responsible Americans avoid danger, save lives, and keep their families safe, and we believe that our elected leaders in Washington have an incredible obligation to pursue these same goals,” the group added.

The group noted that in 2020, a significant number of people purchased firearms in the midst of historic riots and the COVID-19 pandemic.

The FBI stated last month that it processed a record 39.7 million firearm background checks in 2020, which bested the previous high of 10 million. Reports said that as many as 8.5 million purchased their first firearm in 2020, according to the National Shooting Sports Foundation. Meanwhile, a number of gun and ammunition manufacturers reported shortages amid the surge in demand.

Biden earlier this month said that he would push Congress to enact more gun control measures, including allowing gun manufacturers to face lawsuits, banning “assault weapons,” and placing bans on high-capacity magazines. His pick for Attorney General, Merrick Garland, told lawmakers on Monday that he would support the White House’s stance on gun control.

“This Administration will not wait for the next mass shooting to heed that call. We will take action to end our epidemic of gun violence and make our schools and communities safer. Today, I am calling on Congress to enact commonsense gun law reforms, including requiring background checks on all gun sales, banning assault weapons and high-capacity magazines, and eliminating immunity for gun manufacturers who knowingly put weapons of war on our streets,” Biden said earlier this month.

Pro-Second Amendment groups have noted that the term “assault weapon” has a nebulous meaning, with some saying that it is a made-up term that was invented by the anti-gun lobby in the 1980s. “Assault rifle” is a term sometimes used by the military to define a rifle that has select-fire capabilities, or the ability to switch between semi-automatic or fully automatic. For example, the much-derided AR-15 doesn’t have select-fire capability and only operates as a semi-automatic rifle.

The U.S. Concealed Carry Association further added that “record numbers of Americans have been purchasing firearms to keep themselves and their loved ones safe,” adding that “women and minorities are now leading the way as the fastest-growing groups of concealed carry permit holders in the country.”

White House officials, furthermore, have said Biden would take on the largest gun-rights group, the National Rifle Association (NRA).

“But I will say that the president is somebody, throughout his career, who has advocated for smart gun, smart gun safety measures,” press secretary Jen Psaki said earlier this month. “He is not afraid of standing up to the NRA – he has done it multiple times.”

The letter was first obtained by the Washington Examiner. The Epoch Times has reached out to the White House for comment.

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has revived the idea of issuing “vaccine passports” for domestic use, promising a review into the possibility despite having ruled it out just a week ago.

On a visit to a south London school on Tuesday, Johnson said while there’s “no question” many countries will require proof of vaccination against the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) virus for international travel, using them domestically is “a novelty for our country.”

“We haven’t had stuff like this before. We’ve never thought in terms of having something that you have to show to go to a pub or theatre,” he said.

But he suggested he could see the case for domestic vaccine passports. “I know fervent libertarians will object, but other people will think that there is a case for it,” he said.

He said there are “deep and complex issues” that need to be worked out—“ethical issues about what the role is for government in mandating people to have such a thing, or indeed banning people from doing such a thing.”

“We can’t be discriminatory against people who, for whatever reason, can’t have the vaccine,” he said.

Johnson said he wants a “proper review” into this issue led by senior cabinet minister Michael Gove, who is tasked to get “the best scientific, moral, philosophical, ethical viewpoints on it.”

His latest remarks show a noticeable shift in the government’s stance on the issue from just a week ago, when he ruled it out.

“What I don’t think we will have in this country is—as it were—vaccination passports to allow you to go to, say, the pub or something like that,” Johnson told the media on Feb. 15.

Before that, various government ministers—including Health Secretary Matt Hancock, Vaccines Minister Nadhim Zahawi, and Michael Gove—had repeatedly denied there were plans for domestic vaccine passports.

Talking to the media on Tuesday, Johnson also expressed optimism that all COVID-19 restrictions can be lifted on June 21.

In the government’s lockdown exit “roadmap” he set out on Monday, June 21 is set as the earliest possible date for the removal of all restrictions on social contact.

“Because of the immense possibilities now of the vaccination rollout, because science has given us this way of creating a whole shield around our population, we can really look at that June 21 date with some optimism,” he said.

But he also said “nothing can be guaranteed,” as “it all depends on the way we continue to be prudent and continue to follow the guidance in each stage.”

🇺🇲Big Tech Employees Donated More To Biden’s Campaign Than Any Other Sector

▪︎ Employees at Microsoft, Amazon, Apple, Facebook, and Alphabet, Google’s parent company, donated at least $15.1 million to President Joe Biden’s presidential campaign, according to Open Secrets.

▪︎ The donations eclipsed the amount given from employees in the banking and legal sectors, according to The Wall Street Journal. The five companies were also the largest fundraising sources for Biden’s campaign.

▪︎While most tech employees have long supported Democratic candidates instead of Republican ones, previous presidential campaigns, including those of Hillary Clinton and former President Barack Obama, relied more on donors and corporations outside of the technology realm.

“I gathered all vaccine ingredients into a list and contacted Poison Control. After intros and such, and asking to speak with someone tenured and knowledgeable, this is the gist of that conversation.

Me: My question to you is how are these ingredients categorized? As benign or poison? (I ran a few ingredients, formaldehyde, Tween 80, mercury, aluminum, phenoxyethanol, potassium phosphate, sodium phosphate, sorbitol, etc.)

He: Well, that's quite a list... But I'd have to easily say that they're all toxic to humans... Used in fertilizers... Pesticides... To stop the heart... To preserve a dead body... They're registered with us in different categories, but pretty much poisons. Why?

Me: If I were deliberately to feed or inject my child with these ingredients often, as a schedule, obviously I'd put my daughter in harm's way... But what would legally happen to me?

He: Odd question... But you'd likely be charged with criminal negligence... perhaps with intent to kill... and of course child abuse... Your child would be taken away from you... Do you know of someone's who's doing this to their child? This is criminal...

Me: An industry... These are the ingredients used in vaccines... With binding agents to make sure the body won't flush these out... To keep the antibody levels up indefinitely...

He: WHAT?!

The man was beside himself. He asked if I would email him all this information. He wanted to share it with his adult kids who are parents. He was horrified and felt awful he didn't know... his kids are vaccinated and they have health issues...”
