A TEACHER by the pseudonym Eyelash did a bit of Googling and found this gem of a document from the Department for Education, fresh off the press.
Well worth the read for UK parents (and obviously me as a teacher).
Some great take homes:
1) Mask wearing is a RECOMMENDATION
SEE page 7).
They donโt even use the word โmandatoryโ.
So absolutely no need to comply with a โrecommendationโ.
Iโd say no need to even claim exemption, but itโs a nice back-up.
2) They clearly state in the GUIDANCE that asymptomatic testing remains VOLUNTARY. (Page 13).
So again, itโs very easy to refer to this government document and say โno thanksโ to that particular medical intervention for your kids.
Lots of other very useful info there too and frankly itโs good news. Shows how the spin they put that masks are required is a total nonsense.
The government doesnโt even put it on their own official guidance, which is why I always try to read their info - not rely on media reports or what schools say.

Doctor puts Savid Javid in his place!
Health Secretary Sajid Javid has been directly challenged by an unvaccinated hospital consultant over the government's policy of compulsory COVID jabs for NHS staff.
During a visit to King's College Hospital in south London, Mr Javid asked staff members on the intensive care unit about their thoughts on new rules requiring vaccination for NHS workers.
Steve James, a consultant anaesthetist who has been treating coronavirus patients since the start of the pandemic, told the health secretary about his displeasure.
"I'm not happy about that," he said. "I had COVID at some point, I've got antibodies, and I've been working on COVID ICU since the beginning.
"I have not had a vaccination, I do not want to have a vaccination. The vaccines are reducing transmission only for about eight weeks for Delta, with Omicron it's probably less.
"And for that, I would be dismissed if I don't have a vaccine? The science isn't strong enough."
