Passengers who travel aboard Royal Caribbean International and its subsidiary, Celebrity Cruises, will have to be vaccinated for the CCP virus when cruises resume in June, officials said.
Royal Caribbean will provide cruises to the Bahamas and Mexico in June, the company said.

“Travelers looking ahead to their summer vacations can book their roundtrip cruise as soon as Wednesday, March 24 and set sail starting June 12. The new itineraries departing through August, which will sail with vaccinated crew, will be available to adult guests who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19,” the cruise operator said in a statement.
Passengers who are under the age of 18 have to test negative for the CCP virus, the release added.

“The vaccines are clearly a game-changer for all of us, and with the number of vaccinations and their impact growing rapidly, we believe starting with cruises for vaccinated adult guests and crew is the right choice,”

Michael Bayley, president and CEO of Royal Caribbean, stated. “As we move forward, we expect this requirement and other measures will inevitably evolve over time.”

Celebrity Cruises, which is owned by Royal Caribbean, also announced it will restart cruises in June that leave from St. Maarten.

It isn’t clear if the company will expand the vaccination requirement for future cruises.
The announcement comes as some companies and elected officials have posited COVID-19 “vaccine passports” for air travel or other services. Some Republicans and civil liberties proponents have raised red flags about such measures, saying they would essentially create separate classes of citizens.

Former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair recently stated that the “world is moving in this direction,” adding that he couldn’t see another way of this,” in reference to so-called immunity passports.
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis last week said that “vaccine passports” would be a “terrible idea” for his state.

Mexican authorities said on March 19 that hundreds of illegal immigrants, including unaccompanied minors, were discovered crammed in three tractor-trailer trucks near the Mexico-Guatemala border.
During routine checks, Mexican migration agents along with National Guard police found 329 Guatemalans and Hondurans, including 114 unaccompanied minors, in the vehicles.

The tractor-trailer trucks were stopped on a highway south of Tuxtla Gutierrez, the capital of Chiapas state, according to a statement from Mexico’s Interior Ministry.

The unaccompanied minors were given food and water, and were later transported to shelters run by the migration authority, while the adults were sent to to nearby offices to begin administrative processing, the Interior Ministry said.
It comes as Mexico launches an operation to crackdown on illegal crossings at its southern border with Guatemala, including monitoring entry points with drones, and stationing officers at parts of the border.

The rollout of measures to deter migrant smuggling is particularly aimed at people travelling with minors, and was announced a day after Mexico said it was barring entry for nonessential travel at the border to curb the transmission of COVID-19, the disease caused by the CCP

“The Mexican government will carry out … operations on the southern border to protect the rights and safety of migrant minors from several Central American nations who are used by criminal networks as a passport to reach northern Mexico,” Mexico’s National Immigration Institute (INM) said in a statement.

INM said that since January, 4,180 accompanied and unaccompanied minors, mainly from Central America, had been found in Mexico without sufficient travel documents.

The INM said the latest measures were aimed at protecting minors from Central America, many of whom are being exploited by criminal gangs as part of efforts to illegally enter the United States. It said people are being told by criminal gangs that it will be easier to enter the United States if they bring children with them.

The latest restrictions coincide with a spike in the number of illegal immigrants reaching the U.S border through Mexico.

Last year, another star of the Emmy-winning series, Jeremiah “Jerry” Harris, was sued for “child exploitation and abuse” of twin brothers who were only 13-years-old at the time — then arrested a week later for “enticing an underage boy to produce sexually explicit videos and photos of himself.”
Harris was charged with one count of producing child pornography and later seven more counts related to allegations that he solicited sex from minors while at cheerleading competitions.
On Wednesday, another star of the show, Mitchell Ryan, 23, was arrested in Texas for “felony aggravated sexual assault of a child.”  Law Enforcement Today reports that the assault allegedly occurred on June 24, 2020.

Robert Joseph Scianna Jr., a 25-year-old professional cheerleader who was also featured on the show, was arrested on February 3 and charged with “taking indecent liberties with a child and use of an electronic communication device to solicit sex.” He had messaged someone that he believed to be a 14-year-old boy and attempted to arrange a meeting in person.

“Hopefully if there are any more victims out there that for whatever reason, maybe because of his stature, didn’t want to come forward, that they reach out to the police department so we can investigate further,” Sergeant Winfred Lewis of the Chesterfield County Police Department in Virginia told Law Enforcement Today.’
