Iβm sorry I havenβt updated all of you. Typing with one hand has been my deterrent. Itβs actually doing very well. I went back to the orthopedic doctor on January 2nd. He was pleasantly surprised at how good the alignment still looked in the X-ray, but he remained concerned about compression in my bones and had a few other βconcernsβ for what could happen over the next three weeks with the cast they put on in place of the splint. I remained confident I would be fine but had some questions I wanted to ask a βrealβ doctorπ€£so I decided to go back to see the one at The Healing Center. I also wanted her to see my most recent X-rays.
She was super impressed with my progress and assured me that much knitting had been done already in the bones and that it looked like all would continue to heal well. She showed me how to hold my arm to provide some traction occasionally by simply letting it hang down a few times a day for a few minutes to let the weight of it pull on the wrist. She also gave me some exercises to do with my fingers to strengthen my hand while the cast is on. It was so encouraging!
She loved that I was doing the frequency videos and the list of other healing techniques Iβve been using. She said I should be seeing improvement daily which I have been.
What a completely different experience than with the orthopedic doctor! They really do only know how to peddle fear. Itβs so crazy! She mentioned me going next time and blowing him away with my healing, and thatβs certainly what I intend to do!
My hand is gaining strength and my fingers are getting more mobility. Iβve even been knitting some again. Itβs slow going compared to my usual method, but I am thrilled to actually be able to create something again!
I go back on the 28th to get the cast off and see what comes next. I trust Iβll be up and running again very soon!
