I’m exhausted today after throwing a graduation / birthday party yesterday. We were at a park and I just wanted to share that I think I have finally found the magic mix of essential oils to repel wasps / Yellowjackets.
I used a base of about 60% distilled water and 40% white vinegar and to that I added clove, geranium, lemongrass and rosemary essential oils.
We sprayed it on the tables, and around the food area - including on the net covers for over the food and we had almost no wasps the whole afternoon.
To put that into context, we’d used the same picnic shelter in the past and the wasps were rampant. There was also a small nest nearby and a hole in the wall where we watched wasps go in and out as we were setting up so they were definitely around, they just didn’t bother us.
This is now my go-to mixture for pest repellent at parties.(Too bad I don’t think it works on human pests 😆)
