No. That idea comes from Wikipedia. In actuality, we have mentions like 1 Maccabees 12:20-23 dating to B.C. 100 where the Spartans say they are descendants of Abraham and brothers to the Israelites. We have Gildas the Wise's work in A.D. 510~ wherein he calls his own people Israelites. The Declaration of Arbroath was published in A.D. 1320, briefly discussing the origin of the Scots as descending from Israelites. This is not an exhaustive list. The point is, "Christian Identity" started with Adam.
"Why is Jesus Christ called Jewish then?"
Due to a (((modern narrative))) about his origins. The word used for "Jew" in the New Testament is Ioudaios (แผธฮฟฯ ฮดฮฑแฟฮฟฯ) which means:
โข One of the descendants of the patriarch Judah, or a member of the tribe of Judah.
โข A native of Judea.
โข An Israelite.
Ioudaios gradually morphed, through translations of the Bible, into "Jew". Of course, nowadays it's politically incorrect to suggest a separation between Jews and Israelites and the Israelite religion (often called "Yahwism") is referred to as Judaism anachronistically.
"Even if is there is a distinction, weren't the Israelites still brown?"
Not at all. The Israelites were pale, (1 Sam. 16:12; 17:42, Psalm 51:7, Lam. 4:7, Song. 5:10; 5:13-15; 7:4) able to visibly blush and tan, (Ezra 9:6, Jeremiah 6:15, Song. 1:5-6) had red hair, (Gen. 25:25) were indistinguishable from Greeks aside from cultural practices, (Acts 16:3, Antiquities 12:241) were lactose tolerant (Gen. 18:8, Isa. 7:22, Exo. 3:8, Lev. 20:24).
