Eastward?

And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.
- Genesis 2:7-8

The garden of Eden, also known as Paradise, has stumped many people as to its location. Some think it was along the Euphrates river, in the heart of Africa, or even the Philippines. The verse above says the garden is "eastward." East of what? Creation?
The word eastward in the scripture does not necessarily mean east. Particularly here the Hebrew word for eastward is 'qadem' meaning "the front, the forepart, before". It comes from the root 'qadam' meaning "to precede, hence, to anticipate, hasten, meet" ect.
Originally the word here had nothing to do with the direction East. It could be speculated East became synonymous for 'qadem' because the sun rose from the east, the visual starting point of the sun.

Because East was the "beginning" to the Hebrews, West was the "behind," North and South were considered left and right hand. Other nations around the area also thought of certain directions as the beginning or the front. The Egyptians thought the front was either North or South (Egyptologists cant make up their mind) and to the Akkadians and Assyrians the front was the west.
If the Egyptians did believe North or South to be the front or fore-country, it is possible Moses did as well, being raised as Egyptian nobility. Northward or southward could very easily replace eastward in Gen 2:8 without losing its actual meaning.

The question remains, where exactly is this fore-country? Regarding Biblical Cosmology, south would not make sense, neither would east and west. In all three directions there is not definite stopping point. There is no east, west, or south pole. North therefore is the best candidate. Its where the compass points after-all.

Euphrates?

And a river went out of Eden to water the garden; and from thence it was parted, and became into four heads. The name of the first is Pison... And the name of the second river is Gihon... the name of the third river is Hiddekel... And the fourth river is Euphrates.
- Genesis 2:10-14

Here we get another location indicator as to where Eden is. Three of the four rivers may be foreign, but Euphrates we know. Kind-of.
Never mind the idea of a changed in landscape from the flood making it almost impossible to truly pinpoint these ancient rivers, placing Eden on the Euphrates river of today is too easy an option.

Here the word Euphrates is 'perath' or 'phrath' which means "rushing; to break forth." It is speculated the word derives from 'buratti' or 'peratti' which was used to signify "the broad" or "the deep." A river called "deep rushing river" doesn't exactly narrow it down, especially since there were multiple rivers at the time of Moses named Euphrates, two rivers in Persia, one in Africa, and the one we know today. The same goes for the Americas, where multiple rivers were named "broad brook."
Which broad rushing river was Moses talking about here? Certainly not the Euphrates we know today, as it does not split from a river with three other rivers. Our Euphrates comes from mountain springs.

The idea of people coming into a new country and naming landmarks after the ones they left behind in their old country should not be discarded. The Thames in New England for example was named after the Thames of the old England. Just as the water pool Gihon in Jerusalem was named after Gihon that flowed from Eden. The fact that there are multiple rivers in ancient times in diverse locations shows me there was a common memory of that famous Phrath river coming from Paradise passed down from Noah to his children. In fact his children may have been eye witnesses to those famous rivers.

The river names listed in Genesis 2 should not be used as land markers, but the number of rivers should.

The Tree of Life

And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst [H8432 tavek - the middle/center] of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
- Genesis 2:9

In the midst [G3319 mesos - the middle/center] of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
- Revelation 22:2

In the center of Eden resides the Tree of Life. In Revelation we get told New Jerusalem will be in the Garden of Eden, because again the Tree of Life is in the center. If we can locate the tree, we locate Eden and the place of New Jerusalem. Also according to Revelation the tree bears 12 manner of fruit. Any clues to the trees characteristics are useful.
There is much debate on whether this tree is even physical, if its a metaphor or symbolic of something else. For our sake, lets assume the tree is at least in the middle of Eden, as the scripture says.

Thus were the visions of mine head in my bed; I saw, and behold a tree in the midst [H1459 gav - middle] of the earth, and the height thereof was great. The tree grew, and was strong, and the height thereof reached unto heaven, and the sight thereof to the end of the earth: The leaves thereof were fair, and the fruit thereof much, and in it was meat for all: the beasts of the field had shadow under it, and the fowls of the heaven dwelt in the boughs thereof, and all flesh was fed of it. I saw in the visions of my head upon my bed, and, behold, a watcher and an holy one came down from heaven; He cried aloud, and said thus, Hew down the tree, and cut off his branches, shake off his leaves, and scatter his fruit: let the beasts get away from under it, and the fowls from his branches: Nevertheless leave a stump of his roots in the earth, even with a brand of iron and brass, in the tender grass of the field; and let it be wet with the dew of heaven, and let his portion be with the beasts in the grass of the earth:
- Daniel 4:10-15

According to this, there was once a tree in the middle of the earth that was visible to all the earth. Reading Ezekiel 31, it becomes clear this tree was in the Garden of Eden. The entire chapter is about the tree and its fate of being cut down. Give it a read.

The cedars in the garden of God could not hide him: the fir trees were not like his boughs, and the chesnut trees were not like his branches; nor any tree in the garden of God was like unto him in his beauty.

This giant tree was the Tree of Life.
Where is the middle of the earth? In Biblical Cosmology the middle would be at the center, the North Pole.

Ladies and Gentlemen, the Garden of Eden was at the North Pole. The Tree of Life was chopped down and left as a stump. This gigantic tree at the north pole, visible to the whole world, sure does sound like a world tree.
Question is, what happened to the garden and the stump? Are they still there?

"Ancient Buddhist, Vedic and Jain traditional cosmologies all state that at the North Pole magnetic center-point of Earth exists a circular mountain of magnetite called Mount Meru. Puranic and Sumerian traditions also referred to this place calling it "Mount Sumeru." The Dogon tribe of Nigeria told of a cosmic pillar spanning 14 worlds which was the “roof-post of the house of the high god Amma.” The Warao Indians of the Orinoco Delta in Venezuela speak of a cosmic axis extending above the center of their earth disk. Ancient Greek mythology referred to "Mount Olympus, the Home of the gods." The ancient Germans told of “Irminsul” a universal column which sustains everything. The Norse Edda spoke of "Asgard," the burgh of the gods rising in the center of "Midgard," the circular earth. Ptolemy recounted a legend involving magnetic islands which exerted such strong attraction that ships with metal nails were held in place and unable to leave. In the Arabic legend, "One Thousand and One Nights," a magnetic mountain pulls all the nails right out of their ship causing it to fall apart and sink. The second tallest mountain in Tanzania is even named "Mount Meru" after its primordial partner at the Pole."

There are many, many more ancient mythologies and traditions that surround a central mountain, pillar or tree that happens to be magnetic, the birthplace of mankind, and or the dwelling of God or gods. Traditions and mythologies do not form from thin air, especially when they are as universal as a central holy mountain. What can we make of these legends?

The Tree of Life, a truly gigantic tree, was cut down, leaving only the stump. To the observer, a giant tree stump could be viewed as a mountain or pillar of the sky. If the stump is still there, is the garden?

Center of the Earth

And from there I was transported to the center of the earth. And I saw a blest fertile place where there were trees whose saplings survive and burgeon from a felled tree. And There I saw a holy mountain. From underneath the mountain, water came out of the east, and its descent was toward the south. And to the east I saw another mountain higher than it. And between them was a deep ravine which was narrow; and through it water flowed underneath the mountain. And to the west of this was another mountain lower than it and not of great height; and a deep and dry ravine was beneath it, between them; and there was another deep and dry ravine at the summit of the three mountains.

And strangers, the terrible of the nations, have cut him off, and have left him: upon the mountains and in all the valleys his branches are fallen, and his boughs are broken by all the rivers of the land; and all the people of the earth are gone down from his shadow, and have left him. Upon his ruin shall all the fowls of the heaven remain, and all the beasts of the field shall be upon his branches:

And he knew that the Garden of Eden is the holy of holies, and the dwelling of the Lord, and Mount Sinai the center of the desert, and Mount Zion -the center of the navel of the earth: these things were created as holy places facing each other.
- Jubilees 8:19

Enoch was transported to the center of the earth, or the North Pole which is also the navel of the earth, where he witnessed a felled or cut down tree, Ezekiel and Daniel both describe the same tree and mountain. What Enoch sees is not multiple mountains, but peaks. This mountain range is what remains of the Tree of Life. Why is the stump jagged? Because it was not cut clean as with a saw, but rather ripped out or pushed over.
The Garden of Eden, the true Mount Zion and Sinai are at the North Pole. Why then does Jubilees say Eden, Zion, and Sinai face each other? This might be a reference to those peaks at the north pole spoken about by Enoch, or their close proximity.

This is all ancient descriptions. What about modern? Why cant we just go north and find a lush green garden?

Christ is the image of God.
Adam was created after the likeness and image of God.
Adam means to show blood in the face, be ruddy, turn rosy, blush ect.
Therefore Christ could do the same.
There is only one group of people who share the same characteristics as Adam.

Adam and Christ were white.
