Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent also became involved in restraining $52 million in cryptocurrency held in wallets allegedly used across the network. Authorities seized the crypto and Telegram channels tied to the operation, which allegedly used a Chinese-language Telegram channel where vendors offered services to build scam investment and money-laundering websites while trafficking victims were reportedly solicited to work in scam compounds. Pirro said the U.S. is now going after “every link in the chain” and dismantling every part of the operation.
