Trump Administration Targets California in Nationwide Crackdown on School Districts Shielding Abusive Teachers

President Trump and Sec. of Education Linda McMahon are launching a nationwide crackdown on school districts accused of shielding sexually abusive teachers, with 20 civil rights investigations set to begin across the U.S. California could lose up to $50 million in federal education funding and is expected to be one of the administration's primary targets. McMahon is expected to issue a formal notice today as the administration moves against districts that allegedly transfer accused teachers to other schools instead of removing them.

"The right to a speedy disposition of the charges, free from unwarranted delay caused by or at the behest of the defendant." Where's Judge Tony Graff's affinity for that statue? Because you are not giving that to Erika Kirk. You are not giving that to that family. Yes, the defendant has Sixth Amendment rights to a speedy trial -- a litany of other rights."

"But the fact that this is not going to be decided until September, there's no decision on probable cause? Probable cause is such a low bar. To your point, ballistic evidence, DNA evidence, there's a texted conviction, there's that roommate saying he confessed, there's a litany of evidence, and she doesn't get a probable cause decision until September, nearly a year after Charlie was killed? You can't make a decision on the pleat of Tyler Robinson? We're not even going to get his plea until a year when Charlie Kirk was assassinated?
