Alberta Premier Danielle Smith and President-elect Trump met on Saturday and discussed the "mutual importance" of a U.S.-Canadian energy relationship and the hundreds of thousands of American jobs supported through Albertan exports.
"Over the last 24 hours I had the opportunity to meet President [Trump] at Mar-a-Lago last night and at his golf club this morning," Smith wrote in a post on X. "We had a friendly and constructive conversation during which I emphasized the mutual importance of the U.S. - Canadian energy relationship, and specifically, how hundreds of thousands of American jobs are supported by energy exports from Alberta."

The homeless arson suspect who was taken into custody near one of the Los Angeles wildfires is an illegal immigrant, it was revealed Sunday night.
The suspect, who has since been identified as Mexican national Juan Manuel Sierra-Leyva, was caught on video walking with a yellow blowtorch before he was confronted by residents in Calabasas, west of Beverly Hills.
One witness later recounted that the suspect was 'very focused on moving forward with the blow torch', telling FOX 11 the suspect said: 'I can't stop. I can't stop. I'm not putting this down. I'm doing this.'

BREAKING🚨: House Republicans on Monday introduced a bill that would allow President-elect Trump to enter into negotiations with Denmark to acquire Greenland.
It's the latest in a series of proposed Republican legislation to bring Trump's vision of a new, sprawling American empire to fruition.
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) last week introduced a bill that would have the Gulf of Mexico renamed the "Gulf of America" on official documents and maps.
🟢 Rep. Dusty Johnson (R-S.D.) also introduced a bill last week along with 15 other Republicans that would authorize talks to repurchase the Panama Canal.
🟢 Rep. Andy Ogles (R-Tenn.) is introducing the two-page "Make Greenland Great Again Act," which was first reported by Fox News

The band’s name is based off Greenwich Village, New York’s most vibrant gay neighborhood in the seventies, and each of the Village People dressed up as a popular gay archetype. While other artists have flinched at Trump using their music, Willis has embraced the song’s new meaning. He said that beginning in January, his wife “will start suing each and every news organisation that falsely refers to YMCA, either in their headlines or alluded to in the base of the story, that YMCA is somehow a gay anthem.”

That’s the message special counsel Jack Smith delivered in his final report, which laid out evidence Smith said would have resulted in Trump’s conviction at trial. Trump is only off the hook, the special counsel wrote, because he won back the White House in 2024, forcing the Justice Department to shut down the historic prosecution.
“The Department’s view that the Constitution prohibits the continued indictment and prosecution of a President is categorical and does not tum on the gravity of the crimes charged, the strength of the Government’s proof, or the merits of the prosecution, which the Office stands fully behind,” Smith wrote in a 137-page volume of the report that the Justice Department sent to Congress and publicly released on Tuesday morning, shortly after midnight.
“The admissible evidence was sufficient to obtain and sustain a conviction,” added Smith, who resigned from his position last week.
The Justice Department is withholding for now, under court order, the second part of Smith’s two-volume report. That portion details his investigation into the presence of a slew of classified documents at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home and allegations that he obstructed the investigation into how they got there.
