Fires stretching emergency services to the limit, LA fire chief says

Los Angeles County Fire Chief Anthony Marrone has requested mutual aid from five neighboring counties – Orange, Los Angeles, Ventura, Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo – to assist with wildfire fights in the area.

The Palisades Fire, which has ravaged Los Angeles County, has now destroyed 1,000 structures and is growing, LA County Fire Chief Anthony Marrone said Wednesday.

The National Weather Service has predicted a “continued red flag weather event with strong winds and low humidities” that places all Los Angeles County residents in danger, county Fire Chief Anthony Marrone said Wednesday at a news conference.
