🚨HUGE: Blockstream REFUSES to “pay a ransom” for $47 MILLION in Bitcoin still missing after the Liquid exploit.
"Bitcoin is hard money and can't be minted without costs," it said. "Bitcoin doesn't haircut users to pay a ransom."
The attackers returned 3,400 BTC on Monday, roughly 85% of the stolen funds, but still hold 598.5 BTC.
Blockstream says it will work with law enforcement, exchanges and forensic specialists to trace the remaining funds if they are not returned.
Liquid has resumed transactions, but withdrawals to the Bitcoin network remain disabled.
