Hagstones, also known as Holey (Holy) Stones, Witch Stones, or Adder Stones, are naturally occurring stones that have a hole or holes in them, typically found near the ocean and rivers. The holes occur due to the elements taking their toll on the surface of the stone, eventually breaking their way through in a specific manner.

Known to be powerful protection and luck charms, they are said to protect the owner from anything ranging from negative spirits to hexes to curses to spiritual harm.

The use of Hagstones extends throughout the Celtic territory, from the British Isles, Spain and France, through Central Europe to Romania.
