'The Little Mermaid' Criticized For Not Talking About Slavery Enough

Woke Disney’s “The Little Mermaid” remake faced criticism Wednesday for not being woke enough because it did not focus on slavery.

“I do not think we do our children any favors by pretending that slavery didn’t exist,” Royal Academy of Dramatic Art chair Marcus Ryder wrote.

But the movie is a work of fiction, not a documentary...? Does he think mermaids were real, too?
