Police Sergeant Kate Evans was on her knees, on all fours, attempting to arrest another activist when Corner approached from behind and struck her in the back with a sledgehammer. He hit her at least once, while reports mention the potential for a second strike. This fractured her spine, she's been been on restricted duty ever since. At 2.09am on Saturday (2 May) we were called to reports of a rape in #Mexborough. It is reported a woman was raped by two men on Bank Street.
An investigation has been launched, and on Sunday (3 May) two men were arrested in connection with the incident.
A 48-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of rape and a 45-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault. Both have been bailed pending further enquiries.
