🇮🇹🌍 At the African Union, Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni delivered a blunt message on migration.

“Those who claim migration is necessary and indispensable are, in reality, acting selfishly. If young people leave their homeland… what will become of the history, culture, and even the very existence of the country they have left behind?”

Meloni’s point cuts against the fashionable narrative in Brussels. Draining entire regions of their youth is not compassion — it is demographic extraction. Nations cannot survive if their most productive generations are encouraged to leave en masse.

Her argument is simple: development should happen where people are born, not through a permanent one-way pipeline into Europe. Stability, investment and sovereignty in Africa — not managed depopulation — is the only sustainable path forward.
