If you go onto Meta landlord and HMO pages, a great many state that they intentionally avoid asylum seekers and similar undesirables. Yet those who've built large portfolios through Serco, Mears and Clearspring have led to them all being seen as social pariahs. If and when a political party starts removing their tenants, these people will go bankrupt fast. So there may be some pressure from banks here. They often operate a buy, renovate, rent, refinance model, with interest only mortgages. Without the flow of tenants backed by government financing, they will be in serious trouble.

The person absolutely responsible for this, was 'Sir' Ben Wallace and his Prime Minister, Boris Johnson. I recall a discussion thereafter, that the expertise to produce new weapons (such as missiles) was lost. Each required multiple parts, from many different sources and many of these sources had closed down. It's not like shopping at a supermarket, with a regular supply chain. It makes us wholly dependent on foreign powers and whether they agree to sell it to us, for whatever purpose we need it for. Completely unforgivable.
