I have stressed this many a time, but will do so again now - we do not yet have DNA from a single ancient skeleton of the British isles that has been scientifically confirmed to belong to a sub-saharan African (black person). Not from the Roman era, not from Medieval era, not from the Bronze-age, not from the Neolithic and not from the Mesolithic!

The Mesolithic hunter-gatherers were LESS related to black Africans than modern Europeans are. In other words, it is more scientifically accurate to describe Adolf Hitler as a black African, than to say Cheddar man was one. As for the North Africans stationed along Hadrian's wall - they were not black, they were North Africans, and they did not stay here - they left when their time in the Roman army was up.
