Australia's corporate media finally reports on the obvious, but note how the journalist's name is left off the story.

I find this one of those articles that purports to criticise something, whilst actually providing justification for it.
"A sample review of 120 cases of non-crime incidents and hate crimes found that 30 should not have been recorded at all."
75% justified? If it's not a crime, they should not be recorded against people's names. The article blurs both types (criminal and not) in its opening paragraphs.

Germany's largest supermarket EDEKA started a campaign against the AfD.
In response, a group of gentlemen went to EDEKA and filled their shopping trolleys to the brim, then proceeded to the checkout, unloaded their trolleys slowly, where they found out that they had all forgotten their wallets - how unfortunate!
As a result; all the checkouts were blocked for hours and the staff had to return all the goods to the shelves.

Earlier this week it was announced that Starlink is now available in Zimbabwe.
Starlink is still unavailable in South Africa due to government regulations requiring the company to be at least 30% black-owned.
This disproportionately impacts white farmers who have limited telecommunications access due to a lack of infrastructure.

I feel uncomfortable with this further usurping parental roles by the state, but perhaps we've fallen so far that it's the least worst option? At least in Oz.

Opinions on this case aside, isn't it outrageous that court transcripts are so expensive that even those whose case it is can't afford them? In an age of AI, surely it must be a fairly simple process to transcribe.
