The underlying assumption here is that wider society is responsible for not modifying its practices and culture to account for these people's very particular needs. But why should it? People who assert they are transexual have much higher levels of mental illness and therefore are an obvious flashpoint for conflict. What is outrageous is that businesses can be severely penalised if they don't respond to the demands of this group, even if these changes leads to an impact upon the viability of the business or levels of contentedness among staff.
