I'm deeply saddened and angered to hear the news this morning that the tree at Sycamore Gap, along Hadrian's Wall, has been felled.

I have an affinity with it, having visited it on the last hike with my deceased dog Asken, and having it featured on the cover of my old band Winterfylleth's album 'The Hallowing of Heirdom'. And we mustn't forgot how it was immortalised in 'Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves'.

If radical Muslims with British residency are developing explosive drones in Coventry for use abroad, it's only a matter of time before they're used here.

Article: A Coventry student has been found guilty of building a drone for terrorists. Mohamad Al-Bared hand-made the drone specifically to transport an explosive or chemical weapon into enemy territory for ISIS.

The device was seized when police raided Al-Bared's home in Kare Road home on January 31. They also took a 3D printer and several devices including phones and laptop. Painstaking analysis of the devices revealed a series of alarming conversations that highlighted his support for ISIS as well as extremist material and violent propaganda videos.

I remember filming on the wall for my video ‘The Hidden Treasure of Broomlee Lough’ back in April. When I finished I headed to the pub next to the Gap, and had a pint of the pale ale named after the iconic spot.

And that’s the thing, as important as these places are, the memories we make there are equally important. How many marriage proposals have taken place there over the centuries? How many groups of friends admiring it as they undertake their walk along the wall?

Northumbrians didn’t love that tree because it was great. It was great because we loved it.

Germany: Students in Halle Arm Themselves Against Muslim Migrants

In one city in Germany, having lost faith in the police’s ability to adequately protect the population from this Muslim crime wave, older students, and parents, too, have organized patrols and self-defense groups.

Organized gangs, many of them made up of foreigners, have targeted children in Halle’s schools for years, with the police recording hundreds of such cases. However, there is now a citizens’ initiative in the German city that has begun patrolling the area, and students are arming themselves for self-defense purposes as they lose faith in the police to protect the young victims.

Although the police have promised to be more present at schools, as parents raised concerns about their children being assaulted or being constantly on watch for gangs, the attacks have continued virtually uninterrupted.
