The positions which are becoming vacant due to resignations are not getting filled
Recruitment firms are telling lower level employees not to try switching jobs and certainly not go for contracting.
Financial services companies management have listened to klarna ceo talking about operational efficiency due to use of AI ( listen to his interviews) and hence they are vary of adding to employee strength.
I am firmly of the opinion that we are looking at significant increase in unemployment.. leading to substantial fall in tax receipts ….leading to much higher fiscal deficits in the form of more free money in western countries.

The US Treasury estimates net interest costs on federal debt will hit a record $890 Billion in 2024.
This would be $331 Billion higher than a year ago and almost double the amount from 2022.
To put this into perspective, net interest expenses will be ~3% of the ENTIRE US GDP, the most in over 30 years and higher than World War II levels.
Interest payments, on a non-net basis, have already surpassed $1 Trillion when annualized.
Total interest payments are set to reach as high as $1.6 Trillion by the end of the year if the Fed does not cut rates.
Debt crisis is an understatement.
