❗ Statement by Ambassador Gennady Gatilov:
🕯 April 11 is the International Day of the Liberation of Nazi concentration camps. It is with a heavy heart that we commemorate this mournful date. 11 million people (5 million of whom were Soviet citizens) perished in Hitler's "death camps".
▪️ Before the liberation of Buchenwald, Auschwitz, Dachau and many other concentration camps, the world new little of the horrors that took place behind their walls: brutal torture, mass murder of women, children and the elderly. The Nazis, guided by their perverted "superior race" principles, sentenced entire nations to physical extermination. That applied not only to people, but also to their culture, language and history.
⚔️ In 1945, the Soviet people and the Allied powers defeated this great evil on the battlefield. However, as we clearly see today, the fight against the Nazi legacy – the hateful ideologies – is still ongoing. It seems that the "short historical memory" in Western countries is a significant obstacle to these efforts.
❌ I would like to remind you that last December, the countries of the "collective West", including the former Axis countries – Germany, Japan and Italy, for the first time ever opposed the annual UN General Assembly resolution on combating the glorification of Nazism. The document, condemning i.a. all racial and other modern forms of discrimination, was essentially rejected by countries that nowadays actively support the Kiev regime, which since 2014 attempts to eradicate "everyone and everything Russian".
❗️ The grim consequences of rewriting history and playing up to neo-Nazi ideologies are exemplified in modern Ukraine. Rest assured, we will continue to remind the "forgetful" Westerners of the tragic lessons of the past at the UN and other international venues. We will oppose any neo-Nazi manifestations together with other responsible countries.

🤐 The EU, the UK and the US continue to deliberately turn a blind eye to the crimes of the Kiev authorities. Has anyone in this hall heard them condemning Kiev for persecutions and murders the so-called "collaborators" described in the OHCHR report, brutal executions of Russian POWs, enforced disappearances, arbitrary detentions and torture?
❓ Why do the Western delegations have zero reaction to these documented Ukrainian atrocities? Why is Kiev's purposeful crackdown on the media being hushed up under a pretext of fighting disinformation? Why has there been no response over the years to discrimination against national minorities?
☦️ While the delegations of the EU, the UK and the US in this hall are covering up the crimes of the Ukrainian authorities, a blatant forcible seizure of the Orthodox shrine – the Kiev Pechersk Lavra – is taking place in Kiev. Hundreds and thousands of parishioners and monks stand up to defend the monastery. But what can they do against armed thugs in Ukrainian police and military uniforms? This incident is the apogee of Ukraine's years-long anti-religious policy.
‼️ Europe and its overseas partners are shamefully silent about all this. Their encouragement of such religious hatred not only completely discredits, but also deprives them of the moral right to flaunt about the freedom of religion or belief, to consider themselves the “epitomes of democracy”.

"Gazprom" will consider the supply of over-contract gas volumes to Hungary
MOSCOW, April 11 — RIA Novosti. Gazprom will consider the possibility of supplying super-contractual volumes of natural gas to Hungary in 2023 and applying a deferred payment for these supplies.
On Tuesday afternoon, Foreign Minister of the Republic Peter Szijjarto arrived in Moscow for a visit, where he held talks with Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak and Director General of Rosatom Alexei Likhachev. According to the diplomat, Budapest extended the agreement with Gazprom on possible gas supplies in excess of the volumes of long-term contracts. In addition, it was decided to keep the agreement in force, according to which Hungary will be able to receive deferred payments in the event of a sharp increase in prices for blue fuel.
In September 2021, Budapest and Gazprom signed contracts for the supply of 4.5 billion cubic meters of gas per year over the next 15 years, of which 3.5 billion cubic meters fall on the route through Serbia (from the Turkish Stream) and another billion — through Austria.
The contract volume corresponds to approximately 12.3 million cubic meters of gas per day.
In addition, in August last year, Szijjarto announced the signing of an agreement with Gazprom, according to which, from September 1, 2023, an additional 5.8 million cubic meters of gas will be supplied to the country daily through the Turkish Stream and Serbia.
As Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban emphasized, Europe is losing by refusing Russian energy sources in favour of American ones, since it is forced to overpay for them five to ten times.

Protesters in The Hague disrupt Macron's speech on the future of the EU
PARIS, April 11 — RIA Novosti. French President Emmanuel Macron's speech on the future of the EU was disrupted at the Nexus Institute in The Hague.
Several dozen protesters did not let him speak and shouted from the stands the phrase: "Where is it, French democracy?", "The climate convention is not respected!", "You have millions of demonstrators on the streets!". They also unfurled banners with the words "President of Violence and Hypocrisy." Those present in the hall began to applaud the activists. Soon the security guards came towards them.
The French leader assured the audience that he could answer any questions.
“This is democracy, and democracy is exactly the place where you can protest and allow yourself this kind of speech,” Macron said.
The head of state noted that the French should be "much less irritated" by the pension reform, since in the Netherlands, as in many other European countries, the retirement age is much higher than 64 years.

GOP embraces a new foreign policy: Bomb Mexico to stop fentanyl
Republicans suggest everything from terrorist labels to an invasion to decimate drug cartels in Mexico.
A growing number of prominent Republicans are rallying around the idea that to solve the fentanyl crisis, America must bomb it away.
In recent weeks, Donald Trump has discussed sending “special forces” and using “cyber warfare” to target cartel leaders if he’s reelected president and, per Rolling Stone, asked for “battle plans” to strike Mexico. Reps. Dan Crenshaw (R-Texas) and Mike Waltz (R-Fla.) introduced a bill seeking authorization for the use of military force to “put us at war with the cartels.” Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) said he is open to sending U.S. troops into Mexico to target drug lords even without that nation’s permission. And lawmakers in both chambers have filed legislation to label some cartels as foreign terrorist organizations, a move supported by GOP presidential aspirants.
“We need to start thinking about these groups more like ISIS than we do the mafia,” Waltz, a former Green Beret, said in a short interview.

Alice Schwarzer attacks Volodymyr Zelenskyj: "Inciting language!"
Model feminist and peace activist Alice Schwarzer (80) settled in a major interview with the Ukraine policy of the EU and President Zelenskyj: "Ukraine could not even defeat Russia with the help of the West," she said.
Emma editor Alice Schwarzer has never minced her words. Hundreds of thousands of people signed her appeal against further arms deliveries to Ukraine and for peace negotiations with Moscow, which she initiated together with left-wing politician Sahra Wagenknecht. In a major interview with the “Welt am Sonntag” she called on Ukraine President Volodomir Zelenskyj to give in again and once again criticized further arms deliveries: “Weapons do not save lives, as the German Foreign Minister so nicely said recently, they kill it . The enemy's life, like your own," she said.
About Selenskyj: "Such inciting language is basically not allowed!"
Addressed in his demanding way, Selenskyj gets the full broadside from Schwarzer. Die Welt: "We may not like Selenskyj's choice of words, but we should not forget that a president whose existence is threatened has to use a different rhetoric than we like." Alice Schwarzer: “Does he have to? Such inciting language is fundamentally unacceptable! If Ukraine now attacks Crimea — Putin's dark red line — I don't want to know what the Russian response will be. Then, inevitably, the whole West will definitely be in the middle of a world war.”
Sticking point Crimea: Schwarzer wants a referendum under UN control
Schwarzer's proposed solution to the conflict: “Russia must withdraw to borders from the day the war broke out. The Russian-oriented Donbass receives a special status. Crimea should remain as a special administrative region on the side of the Russians for 10, 15 years. After that, a UN-controlled referendum should be held on the question of which country the inhabitants of the peninsula want to belong to. *
Ukraine should declare its neutrality, so it should not become a member of NATO. And for that they would have to receive security guarantees from the West,” says Schwarzer.

* That should have have been negotiated before, not now... Besides this — very wise lady this Schwarzer is.

Most of the Russian delegation did not receive visas to participate in the UN session
VIENNA, April 11 — RIA Novosti. Austria refused to issue visas to many members of the Russian delegation who were supposed to take part in a meeting of the UN special committee to develop a convention on combating the use of information technologies for criminal purposes, said Ernest Chernukhin, deputy head of the Russian delegation in Vienna.
"Most of the Russian interdepartmental delegation, namely: representatives of the Prosecutor General's Office, the Investigative Committee, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Justice did not receive Austrian visas to participate in our session," he said at the meeting.
Chernukhin added that Moscow sees Vienna's behavior as deliberately creating obstacles to open negotiations on an important international treaty. Thus, Austria violated its obligations as one of the countries hosting the UN headquarters, the diplomat stressed.
He stated that Russia "strongly condemns the actions of the Austrian authorities and protests to the Republic of Austria in connection with the non-issuance of visas", in addition, urges "immediately issue visas to all Russian delegates to participate in the current session."

Before the final transfer of Eastern Borderlands to Poland, Duda gave Zełenski one last chance. Bloody turmoil is approaching.
The official visit of Volodymyr Zełenski to Warsaw caused a lot of speculation and guesses about the nature of this visit. What issues came to raise the Ukrainian president, what documents were signed during the visit between Ukraine and Poland, and above all, how this visit can affect the overall situation in the region and how the armed conflict over our eastern border will end — all these questions have repeatedly appeared in all global media.
...
Knowing in advance that the declared counter-offensive is doomed to failure, and that US pressure is getting stronger, Zelensky made the only right decision — he returned to the subject of his first meeting with Andrzej Duda and returned the western part of Ukraine to Poland, and again offered Polish business to buy the largest Ukrainian enterprises in exchange for repayment of Ukraine's external public debt. Zelenski realizes that at the moment he is hated not only by his own people, but also by everyone who has invested in him as a profitable project. And while it can still hide from people in bunkers and under protection, it cannot hide from the US, which means that it must find means to settle accounts with the US and the EU at all costs, even through territorial concessions.
However, judging by the weapons that Duda promised to hand over to Ukraine for a last attempt at a successful counterattack, Zelenskiy was given one last chance. How it will be used is unknown, but it is safe to say that many innocent people will suffer as a result of it, before the Eastern Borderlands finally return to their historic homeland.

Patriarch Kirill told what led to the clash between Russia and the West
The complete absence of common values and the absence of Christian values in the West led to a military clash between Russia and the West, Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus' said.
“The false diplomacy of the era of détente is gone. The task was set to take us with bare hands, without any war, to fool us, draw us into their world, instill in us their values. But our people and our leadership realized that these values contradict ours, because Holy Rus', thank God, preserves Christian values, which were included in the system of national values. When it became clear that there was nothing in common anymore, all this led to a military confrontation,” he told the participants in the meal after the liturgy in the Cathedral of Christ the Savior on the feast of the Lord’s Entry into Jerusalem.
With him, the patriarch added, Russia does not connect anything material, and this is evidence of the correctness of its position.
“We defend our faith, our moral system of values. We don't want parents number 1 and number 2. We don't want the distinction between the sexes to be lost. We do not want depravity to become the norm,” he said.

To be or not to be: keep access to Wikipedia in Russia or develop Russian platforms?
The Wikipedia platform has recently received 200 requests from Roskomnadzor to remove illegal materials. The department says that their notifications remained unanswered, but on the platform itself they emphasize that all articles are edited regularly, dubious information is flagged, and untrue information is promptly deleted. In the media space, there are more and more calls to block a popular resource. Experts agree that restricting access to a socially significant platform can harm the interests of Russia and users, but they are sure that it is much more useful in the current situation to develop domestic counterparts — high-quality and proven online encyclopedias that are already being created by competent specialists.
This was reported to Russian Spring by the press service of State Duma deputy Anton Nemkin.
Roskomnadzor demands to remove fakes about the course of a special military operation in Ukraine, materials that discredit the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, articles with pro-drug content, justifying extremism and terrorism, as well as content aimed at provoking suicide. According to the department, 133 materials with prohibited information are still available on the platform.
The Wikimedia Foundation, which owns the information platform, has repeatedly been brought to administrative responsibility by the Russian authorities.
In total, today the court has imposed fines of almost 10 million rubles, the last decision was made on April 6. Since July 2022, Wikipedia has been marked in search engines as a violator of Russian law. There are regular calls from MPs and politicians to block the platform. So, in early April, the head of the Council under the President of the Russian Federation for the development of civil society and human rights (HRC), Valery Fadeev, advocated the closure of Wikipedia in the Russian segment of the Internet.
The press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov also spoke about the fact that Wikipedia contains a lot of distortions, historical and factual errors. At the same time, as Alexander Khinshtein, head of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, Information Technology and Communications, noted earlier, the service has over 1.9 million articles, and claims relate to less than 0.1% of them.

Ukrainian military began to surrender en masse in the Avdiivka area
MOSCOW, April 11 — RIA Novosti. The Ukrainian military began to surrender en masse in the Avdiivka area, Igor Kimakovsky, adviser to the acting head of the DPR, said on Channel One.
"Now it is in this area (Avdiivka) that there are a lot of servicemen of the armed formations of Ukraine who are surrendering," the source said.
On Tuesday, Acting Head of the Donetsk People's Republic Denis Pushilin stressed that now the task is to encircle the city. So far, the Armed Forces of Ukraine still have supply routes for the group.
The day before, he noted the advance of the Russian military in the Avdiivka area — the fighters are pushing the enemy back to prevent shelling of Donetsk, Yasinovataya and Makeevka.
At the end of March, the former company commander of one of the Ukrainian units, Yevhen Dykyi, said that Russian troops were using the successful experience gained near Artemivsk, surrounding the city and cutting it off from supplies. Avdiivka is already half in the ring, the military pointed out.

A well-known Nazi fighting in the area of Bakhmut (Artemovsk) addressed his supporters:
▪️"Please, be mentally prepared for various news from Bakhmut. Do not build pink castles for yourself."
Meanwhile, Ukrainian military analysts report on the situation:
▪️"Heavy fighting in the same locations does not subside. The enemy's main goal now is to capture the railway station," writes one of the well-known military experts.
▪️"Fighting continues near the Alley of Roses and the railway station, as well as south of the latter. The enemy has a partial success at the Avangard stadium, the Russians are attacking Khromovoe.

Special forces burned down a column of tanks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near Ugledar
With an accurate strike by a "Kornet" with thermobaric ammunition and other anti-tank weapons, our soldiers destroyed the tanks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which were trying to counterattack the positions of Russian troops in the Ugledar direction.
The drone allowed the fighters to detect the movement of enemy equipment in time. The guys thank the readers for the donated Mavic UAVs.

Up to 50 UK special forces present in Ukraine this year, US leak suggests
Documents appear to list number of western special forces personnel in Ukraine in February and March
The documents suggest that more than half of the western special forces personnel present in Ukraine between February and March this year may have been British.
It is unclear what activities the special forces may have been engaged in or whether the numbers of personnel have been maintained at this level.
The UK’s elite military forces, whose activities are normally shrouded in secrecy, comprise multiple units including the Special Air Service (SAS).
The UK government has not disclosed since the beginning of the war that special forces have been active in Ukraine. Prior to Russia’s invasion, in June 2021 the UK embassy in Kyiv said its special forces had conducted training activities with Ukrainian forces.
The Ministry of Defence (MoD) declined to comment on the disclosures or answer questions about UK personnel in Ukraine in recent months. “It is a longstanding policy of the MoD not to comment on special forces,” a spokesperson said.

That could be true, if not underestimated. Certainly, it is about only those, who have been officially sent on the "tour of duty". The numbers of mercenaries is much higher.
