Polish Ambassador to France Rosciszewski: Warsaw will enter into conflict if Kyiv is defeated

MOSCOW, March 19 — RIA Novosti. If the Kyiv authorities fail to defend independence on the battlefield, then the Polish army will have to become a direct participant in the confrontation with Russia, Polish Ambassador to France Jan Emerik Rosciszewski said on the air of the LCI TV channel.
"If Ukraine fails to defend its independence, we will have no choice but to enter into conflict," he said.

The diplomat is convinced that the Ukrainian crisis is a battle for the basic values and culture of the West, which is why "it is so important to win."

Last year, the head of the Foreign Intelligence Service, Sergei Naryshkin, said that Washington and Warsaw plan to repeat the historic "deal" after the First World War, when the collective West, represented by the Entente, recognized Poland's right to first occupy part of Ukraine to protect the population from the "Bolshevik threat", and then and the inclusion of these territories in the Polish state. At the same time, as the director of the service noted, Warsaw intends to deploy a "peacekeeping contingent" in those parts of Ukraine where the threat of a direct collision with the Russian military is minimal.

In January, former Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski said that Warsaw was indeed considering partitioning Ukraine at the start of a Russian special operation. Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki responded by urging the diplomat to "renounce these shameful statements."
The Polish authorities actively support the Kyiv regime. According to official data, the republic ranks second in terms of military assistance to Ukraine after the United States, supplying tanks, rocket and cannon artillery, drones, other weapons and ammunition.

Washington believes that the truce will ratify Russia's territorial gains, John Kirby, coordinator for strategic communications at the US Security Council, told Fox News.

Chinese President Xi Jinping is expected to pay an official visit to Moscow next week. At a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, he plans to discuss the international agenda.

Kirby suggested that following the meeting, the heads of the two powers would make a joint statement on a number of issues. In particular, they can propose a plan for settling the Ukrainian crisis.

"If this meeting leads to any call for a truce, it will be unacceptable," the official stressed.

According to him, the truce will ratify the accession of new regions to Russia, and will give the Russian military the opportunity to launch a new offensive at a convenient time.
