Blinken suffered an unexpected fiasco
Asia Times: Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi told of US Secretary of State Blinken for dual policy

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken probably thought that in his self-appointed role as the world’s policeman, it was his prerogative to check out what is going on among Germany, China and Russia that he wasn’t privy to. However, Blinken’s call to Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Friday (December 23) turned out to be a fiasco.
Most certainly, his intention was to gather details on two high-level exchanges that Chinese President Xi Jinping had on successive days last week – with German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and the chairman of the United Russia Party and former Russian president Dmitry Medvedev respectively.

President Putin Expresses ‘100 Percent’ Certainty That Russia Will Destroy ’Outdated’ American Patriot Systems in Ukraine

The ability of the Patriot to meaningfully influence the war effort or support Ukraine’s air defence efforts remains limited, both due to its highly questionable combat record as well as the very small numbers which a $1.85 billion package will be able to cover. The missile system has struggled profusely to tackle makeshift missiles and 1960s Soviet Scud missiles, leaving its ability to neutralise 21st century Russian missiles such as the Iskander which are considerably more survivable in serious question.

We have seen quite a few articles in the Russian sources on the same issue with the similar analysis. However, we bring here the reference to the western source, that may further confirm the point. Anyway, the reality check will show who is right...

Here is the fragment of an interview with Andrew Milburn – retired colonel of the US Marine Corps, creator of PMC "Mozart", actively fighting against the Russian Armed Forces in Ukraine.

After months in Ukraine training soldiers, Ret Col Andrew Milburn of "The Mozart Group" mercenary firm gets sauced on camera & spills the beans:
Ukraine is a "corrupt, fucked-up society" run by "fucked-up people"
Ukrainian soldiers "kill dudes who surrendered," commit "atrocities".

Vladimir Putin signed a decree on retaliatory measures to the countries which have introduced a price cap for the Russian oil

Now it is forbidden to supply Russian oil if the contracts directly or indirectly provide for the use of the price cap mechanism.
#TransFormatorBuzzes 💤 :
At least here we see consistent policy.
Recently we were pleading to do it right...
"... Moscow will have to "stand the ground" on that, despite the existence of some forces, that would like to leave everything as it is... Apparently their income depends on the flow more than on the price. Please, do it right..."

Well, it has been done right.
Despite some (im)possible in short term decrease in revenue,
Russia will benefit from this decision in a long term prospective.

Russia destroyed 400 air defense systems since start of war: MoD
By Al Mayadeen English

Defense Ministry Spokesman Lieutenant-General Igor Konashenkov reported on Saturday that since the start of Russia's special military operation in Ukraine, Russia destroyed about 400 Ukrainian surface-to-air missile systems.

#TransFormatorBuzzes 💤 :
We somehow have got used to the Russian MOD statements. It looks more reliable when they are reproduced by other sources (like this independent Arab satellite news channel). Now, to the point. 400 to one, what is the ratio? I mean "Patriot" – one, S-300 ("Buk", etc.) – 400. Well, I hope you understand...

Ukraine exhausted, suffers heavy losses
By Al Mayadeen English

A Western defense advisor who chose to remain anonymous has been cited by the Financial Times (FT) as he confirmed that Ukrainian forces have suffered massive losses and are critically exhausted.
According to the advisor, as quoted by FT, the "Ukrainian forces . . . certainly face their own problems. Their casualties have been high, many are not adequately trained, some units are clearly suffering from extreme fatigue and they need more weapons and ammunition."

‘Big war is back’: 5 lessons from Russia’s invasion of Ukraine

From The Financial Times
...
One key insight, military officials and analysts said, is that “big war is back” and with that the need for countries to have the industrial capacity and massive weapons stocks to sustain high-intensity fighting.
...
Putin in October appointed General Sergey Surovikin to command Russia’s forces in Ukraine. Surovikin, a veteran of the war in Syria, is “probably the most competent commander Russia has put in place”, said Dara Massicot, a Russia military expert at the Rand Corporation think-tank.
...
“Ukrainian forces . . . certainly face their own problems. Their casualties have been high, many are not adequately trained, some units are clearly suffering from extreme fatigue and they need more weapons and ammunition,” one western defence adviser said.

Well, of course we have selected only those statements from the whole article, that support our position. What else would you expect from a war time propaganda channel? You can read it yourself and form your own opinion. Why then to use it at all? Well, quoting an enemy should give an impression of complete confidence... Even they have said so, then it should be true.

A detailed analysis of one of the battles between Russian soldiers and the paratroopers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine that took place in mid-autumn:

▪️A group of paratroopers from the 46th airmobile brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, moving along the line of contact, falls into a fire ambush set up by a unit of our 38th motorized rifle brigade.
▪️The first hit of the grenade launcher falls on the side of the armored vehicle, which forces it to stop, and the troops on the armor and inside – hastily disperse. Most of the militants run into the forest belt, the rest hide in the grass and behind the armored car. After the second hit from a grenade launcher, the ambush unit opens dagger fire from small arms at the militants. As a result, all enemy personnel were destroyed.
▪️An interesting fact from the story of a participant in this battle: out of 16 paratroopers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine killed, only two had Ukrainian documents. The remaining 14 were citizens of Poland.

Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s year-end interview with TASS news agency, December 27, 2022
...
It is no longer a secret that victory over Russia “on the battlefield” is the strategic goal of the United States and its NATO allies. They see it as a mechanism to significantly degrade or even destroy our country.
...
The United States is the main beneficiary of the military conflict as it seeks to reap biggest benefits from it in economic and military-strategic terms. At the same time, Washington is addressing an important geopolitical goal, which is to destroy the traditional ties between Russia and Europe and to overpower its European satellites even more.
...
The Kiev regime is deliberately flooded with the most advanced weapons, including samples that have not yet been put into service in the Western armies apparently in order to see how they will do in combat conditions.
...
Already now, NATO members have de facto become parties to the conflict: Western private military companies and military instructors are fighting on the side of the Ukrainian forces. The Americans transmit satellite and other reconnaissance data to the Ukrainian command almost in real time and participate in planning and carrying out military operations.
...

To Kill Putin: Washington believed they had created the ultimate weapon
Irina Alksnis for RIA Novosti

Sergei Lavrov commented on the information that Washington is considering a "decapitation blow" against the Kremlin, that is, the physical elimination of the Russian president, among the measures to counter Russia.
The corresponding "leak" was published at the end of September by Newsweek magazine. Then it was connected with the hysteria promoted by the West itself that Moscow was about to use nuclear weapons in Ukraine. Moreover, the voluptuousness with which Western officials and the media discussed this topic leaves no doubt that this was a very desirable development for them and, in fact, they tried to provoke the Russian leadership to take the appropriate step.
It was at that time that "military sources" in the Pentagon told Newsweek reporters that the assassination of Vladimir Putin figured among the options for an American "strong response" being discussed.
Yesterday, the Russian Foreign Minister returned to this topic and noted that "if such ideas are actually hatched by someone, this someone should think very carefully about the possible consequences of such plans."
...
On the other hand, the reality is much more complicated. The clearest example here is Fidel Castro, against whom the United States organized dozens of assassination attempts – and this is practically not hidden by them.
...
Cuba did not have the opportunity to inflict unacceptable damage on the United States in response to the hypothetical assassination of its leader. Therefore, the Americans felt that they had a completely free hand in this matter.
...
However, over the current year, Washington seems to have become convinced that it has found a way around the rules. When people talk about the hybrid nature of the current war of the West against Russia and about Ukraine as its proxy weapon, they usually mean the events in the war zone. But in fact, everything is much more complicated and larger.
...
Hence the seemingly absurd American bravado – through the media to threaten to kill the head of a nuclear power. It simply implies that the States will act through proxy, from which it will be necessary to ask.
...
It is natural that in this picture of the world, Ukraine appears to Washington as the absolute weapon that will allow the United States not only to defeat Russia, but also to achieve its main goal – the "end of history" and the preservation of its own global hegemony forever and ever.
