This is how the results of the vote at the UN General Assembly on the resolution submitted by Russia on "Combating the glorification of Nazism, neo-Nazism and other practices that contribute to the escalation of modern forms of racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance" looked like.

The Greens — supported the resolution.

Red — voted against the adoption of the resolution.

Yellow — abstained.

And now who is interested, open the history textbook and see which countries supported Hitler in World War II. You will be very surprised, or not. But everyone who is highlighted in red in this vote is the descendants of those who then plunged the world into the darkness of fascism!!

History is cyclical...

Consequences of attacks on targets in Ukraine: critical infrastructure facilities were hit, entire regions were de-energized

Report based on Ukrainian sources

The Russian army fired more than 70 missiles at targets in Ukraine in an hour. As a result of massive strikes, critical infrastructure facilities were hit, and entire regions were de-energized.

Energy Minister of Ukraine German Galushchenko confirmed that power facilities in the east and south of the country were damaged.

Zelensky's office said emergency shutdowns after strikes were being introduced across the country.

About 15 missile strikes were recorded in the Zaporozhye region, the head of the regional military administration Oleksandr Starukh said.

The head of the Kharkiv region, Oleg Sinegubov, announced 10 missile strikes. Critical infrastructure facilities have been hit, there is no electricity in Kharkiv, power supply is intermittent in the region.

The Krivorozhskaya TPP, which is the most powerful solid fuel power plant in Europe, was struck.

In all districts of Kyiv, interruptions in water supply were recorded due to damage to energy infrastructure. Mayor Klitschko urged residents to prepare a supply of drinking and technical water.

Comments from Rybar:

Although the missile attack cannot be called the most massive in recent months, the number of missiles fired and the geography of targets are still impressive.

This confirms the systematic nature of fire damage.

A new tale has appeared in the Ukrainian information field: people in chat rooms convince each other that the electricity is turned off on purpose even before the strikes in order to mislead the enemy. Someone even writes that power plants are specially stopped during a fire raid.

There is no practical sense from such events. But the Ukrainian population believes in such tales and convinces each other that the strikes of the Russian Armed Forces are futile.
And this is not so...

President Putin had a telephone conversation with Indian Prime Minister Modi

MOSCOW, December 16 - RIA Novosti. Russian President Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, press secretary of the head of state Dmitry Peskov said.

"At the request of Narendra Modi, Vladimir Putin gave fundamental assessments in the context of Russia's line in the Ukrainian direction," the Kremlin's press service said.

The leaders of the two countries expressed satisfaction with the high level of cooperation between the states, which is developing on the principles of a particularly privileged strategic partnership.
"The leaders discussed in detail the prospects for practical cooperation in such areas as mutual investment, energy, agriculture, transport and logistics," the Kremlin press service added.

Putin and Modi also noted the importance of continuing close coordination, taking into account India's G20 and SCO presidency.

The leaders agreed to continue personal contacts.

Ukrenergo has declared a state of emergency

MOSCOW, December 16 - RIA Novosti. The Ukrainian national company Ukrenergo has declared an emergency due to the loss of more than 50% of the consumption of the interconnected energy system, local media reported.

#TransFormatorBuzzes 💤 :
That is an immediate effect of the Russian strike on Dneproges HPS and the other infrastructural objects of the Ukrainian energy supply system.

What does an energy emergency mean?

"Due to damage to substations and generating capacities, it is not technically possible to provide electricity to more than 50% of the country's consumers (!) (including critical infrastructure). That is, there is no way to either generate more energy or transport it," Director of the Ukrainian Energy Research Center Kharchenko.

Dostoevsky.

Fyodor Mikhailovich Dostoevsky, born on 11th of November, 1821, is one of the main icons of Russian literature, alongside the likes of Leo Tolstoy and other great literately figures.

He is generally known to talk about what man and his purpose is, like an existentialist, and dwell on philosophical and religious questions, and did not care very much about materialistic things.

He was, at first, not the prime material to be a writer, his family consisted of merchants and priests, and his father was a doctor, he was in a hospital that catered not to the nobility or the high ranks of society, but for commoners like you and me, this was one of the main influences on his early life.

His nanny told him magnificent fairy tale stories, and his parents introduced him to the Bible, the works of Pushkin, and Ann Radcliffe, all when he was a kid.

His parents wished for him to be educated in a fine institution, do they sent him to an established boarding school, he felt out of it, and was also one of the main influences on his early life, there was also this one time he had to get his father to take care of a young girl who was sexually harassed by a much older man, all of these events played into themes in his novels and works.

He then went to a military academy, and although he disliked the institution, he still excelled in it and graduated with a commission, he started his literary career by translating other works, which were not really succesful.

He released his first novel in 1845, which became a literary and commerical success, Poor Folk was a novel that showcased, well, poor people, their relationship with other people of all classes, and poverty and hardship.

He left the army, wrote another novel, the Double, was about a man who found an exact replica, the replica was better than him and then overtook him in his life, and the original man was carried off to a mental institution, you can guess the theme for that one.

Our friend here had revolutionary aspirations, and he was part of an organization that was viewed as Anti-Tsarist, so he was arrested, sentenced to death, and was quite literally saved at the last second because the Tsar was too kind and commuted his sentence and the sentence of his co- conspirators, and so he was off to Siberia, with hard labor, and, as you can tell, this was also a main theme in one of his novels.

He was released, served conscription , left the service, sweet talked the military and Government into letting him actually live a normal life (albeit with under police surveillance), got married, visited Western Europe, shit talked alot of things there, his wife and brother, unfortunately died, so be married again, had his first kid, who died an infant and he was extremely depressed, had another kid, and another one, and his financial situation up to that point has been shit for 10 or so years, keep in mind he was also a chronic gambler.

He was eventually introduced to high society, including the Tsar and the royal family, and he made many more acquantices, but eventually every man met his end, after facing health issues for most of his life, he died in 1881.

His novels, like The Idiot, Crime and Punishment, Demons, Brother Karamazov, are quite simply, good, and I encourage you all to read them, they have great values in them.

Crime and Punishment talks about the moral and ethical dilemmas a man has in wether the ends justify the means,

The Idiot is about how society can view good natured and naive people.

Demons takes a good look at soy nihilists and how moral degradation is bad

And the Brothers Karamazov is, basically, a big drama, like War and Peace, with themes of God, free will, morality, and how tradition and modernity should go facing each other.

Well, besides that, I guess I can't say much, he was obviously a very religious man, he loved Jesus, and he expressed great admiration to Islam and Prophet Mohammed, and he wanted to see his country to be the best it can be - a true patriot.

U.S. eyes new weapons for Ukraine as Kyiv fears new Russian offensive

Group of "experts" for POLITICO

Patriot missiles, bomb kits and more training are on the table as Moscow looks to take more ground.
...
In addition to finalizing plans to send the Patriot missile defense system, the administration is also weighing sending other weapons such as Joint Direct Attack Munition kits, which convert unguided aerial munitions into smart bombs, and Ground-Launched Small Diameter Bombs, which would significantly extend Ukraine’s strike range, according to two U.S. officials and another person familiar with the matter.
...
#TransFormatorBuzzes 💤 :
Well, you remember, "to the last Ukrainian..." That is it. Ukrainian soldiers do not matter, Ukrainian civilians matter even less, as they may be "Russian collaborants". The whole country is a huge testings ground for the new weapons. However, in ammount not sufficient to change the real disposition on the ground.

Forget negotiations. Officials see Ukraine war stretching for months — or years

Speculation is rife about whether major capitals could ultimately press for talks between Kyiv and Moscow. Yet that seems unlikely.

By Lili Bayer for POLITICO

Don’t expect negotiations between Ukraine and Russia anytime soon — in fact, they might be years away.
As Ukrainians face a difficult winter, speculation is rife about whether major capitals could ultimately press for talks between Kyiv and Moscow. Stubbornly high energy prices, dwindling weapons stockpiles and a soporific economy have all fueled chatter that some of Ukraine’s allies may lean on the country to at least open a dialogue with the enemy.
...
Ukraine is heavily reliant on Western, notably American, arms. And its war plans are thus tied to the White House’s willingness to keep the defensive assistance flowing.
While Joe Biden has shown no signs of backing away from Ukraine, it might be the type of weapons he’s willing to give that could turn the conflict into a prolonged stalemate. What Ukrainian forces need to fully claim victory, said CNAS’ Kendall-Taylor, are more advanced weapons systems such as longer-range artillery.
...
#TransFormatorBuzzes 💤 :
Western politicians do not care about Ukrainian people. They want this carnage to continue forever, at least as long as it may harm and weaken Russia. They may supply weapons and ammunition, but will try to keep away from a direct confrontation with Russia. Once again: "until the last Ukrainian!"

He certainly is a good artist, even from a very poor circumstances he is trying to make a strong show. I would admit that Russians have a different tendency, even at a reasonably good performance, they may be looking first at what went wrong. Hopefully that will make the overall performance better...

WALL STREET JOURNAL SLAMS GERMAN MIGRATION POLICY, POINTS TO TERRIBLE UNEMPLOYMENT SITUATION

Since 2015, more than 13 million #migrants have arrived in #Germany, yet German companies continue to struggle to find suitable workers

December 15, 2022

The paper raises the question of the “paradoxical” situation regarding why Germany continues to lack so many workers despite taking in nearly 13 million people since 2015, citing data from the Federal Statistical Office.

The problem, the paper notes, is that the migrants who are coming are simply not filling the needs of Germany’s high-skill economy.

Of the 800,000 working-age Syrians and Afghans who arrived during the 2015 migrant crisis, only a third of them actually have a tax-paying job.

#Unemployment among foreigners stands at 12 percent, while for Germans it is 5 percent, and as Remix News has also reported in the past, those migrants who are working often work in low-skilled and low-paying jobs that require the state to continue paying out welfare benefits.

“Many refugees are ill-suited for the German high-skilled labor market,” the paper writes, and Germany is also “not good at training them.”

Translated from RIA Novosti:
The Russian Armed Forces received a batch of the latest "Penicillin" sound-thermal reconnaissance systems – they effectively detect the positions of enemy artillery and transmit coordinates for their destruction, an informed source told RIA Novosti.

"Penicillin" have already confirmed their effectiveness in battles in Ukraine, including in the fight against NATO artillery supplied to Ukrainian troops, another source reported earlier.

The complexes are able to see cannons and rocket artillery, as well as anti-aircraft and tactical missiles by acoustic and thermal waves from shots and explosions. They give the operator the exact coordinates of the enemy gun, and the time to obtain the coordinates of a single target firing does not exceed 5 seconds.
