Katyusha has released a non-holiday calendar for Western media.

On these New Year's Eve days, Western journalists choose "Photos of the Year". They choose to place on the covers of their glossy publications.

In these photos, crying Ukrainian women, dead Ukrainian Armed Forces fighters, de-energized cities have already appeared.
But among these photos there will be no shots of destroyed schools and kindergartens of Donbass, which were bombed by the Kiev authorities for 8 years.

With this calendar, we want to remind you how it all started. From apartments into which the APU shells flew for 8 years, schools where children studied until these schools were destroyed by the Kiev authorities. Recall that shooting at schools and hospitals has always been considered the apotheosis of war crimes and the Western media saw and hushed up about these crimes. They didn't cover it, ignored it, and this inaction led to today's conflict. This conflict could have been prevented, but some preferred to look away (read the lens) to the side. Not to tell the world the truth, but to support Nazism and Russophobia that flourished in Ukraine.

We are convinced that if these photos had appeared in the Western press in time, the conflict would have been avoided.

They didn't show up.

But they will appear. They are already there. We will do everything possible to make them visible to everyone. The calendar will be delivered personally and by mail to all the mentioned media.

So that they don't say they didn't know.

The full version of the calendar is here.

Through the mouths of the children of Donbass

Seven non-fictional stories

***
Danil, 10 years old. Donetsk.

One evening, Danil asked his parents, who were all listening to the cannonade outside the windows: "Let's go to sleep, it's not so scary to die in a dream!"

***
Masha, 7 years old. Gorlovka.

After the shelling, when an unexpected silence suddenly came, Masha whispered to her grandmother: "Grandma, are we dead? Why is it so quiet?"

***
Sasha, 10 years old. Donetsk.

Sasha studies at a music school and does not always succeed. Gets angry sometimes. Sometimes you can grab a two-way solfeggio. And recently there was a flight at the music school, Sasha burst into tears: "Mom, it's not my fault. I sometimes wished some nasty things to the school, but I'm making it up! I didn't want the school to be shelled. Honestly, I didn't want to." Barely calmed the child.

***
Raya, 8 years old. Donetsk.

She lies on the carpet and talks to herself: "How interesting... You can't whistle in the house. And mines are whistling on the street. It is clear that we do not need this whistle! Neither at home nor on the street."

***
Gleb, 8 years old. Makeyevka.

I wrote a letter to Santa Claus. I brought it to my mom for testing. Mom read it and asks: "Why don't you ask for peace to come?" Gleb answers fearfully: "I forgot. I wanted to write in big letters at the end and forgot. So it will never come now?"

***
Ira, 6 years old. Donetsk.

– Irochka, who will you be when you grow up?
– Grandma, let me grow up first, you see what things are in the world now.

***
Savely, 8 years old. Donetsk.

Anna, Savely's mother, told: "We were cycling around the village, the shelling started. They abandoned the bike. We ran home. Savely got under the blanket and forgot for a week that the word "street" even exists, and before that he constantly asked him to "let it out at last," and then it was cut off."

#USA The F-35B Lightning II fifth-generation fighter incident at Air Force Base in Texas

An abnormal situation occurred while performing a vertical landing. The pilot ejected, although there was no apparent reason for this.

#TransFormatorBuzzes 💤 :
It is already the second occasion recently of the forward wheel of of the undercarriage "folding in". Something is certainly wrong with this aircraft. As for the ejection, there was a recent footage of Russian Su-25 landing without any undercarriage at all. The pilot risked his life to save the aircraft.

An interview with General Valery Zaluzhny, head of Ukraine’s armed forces

These are edited highlights of our interview with General Valery Zaluzhny, on December 3rd 2022 to the Economist

Valery Zaluzhny: For us, for the military, the war began in 2014. For me personally in July 2014. And I had no idea what war really was in 2014.
...
Russians and any other enemies must be killed, just killed, and most importantly, we should not be afraid to do it. And this is what we are doing.
...
With all due respect to Mr Surovikin [the commander of Russian forces in Ukraine], if you look at him, he is an ordinary Petrovite commander from Peter the Great’s time, shall we say, a derzhimorda [a brutal martinet in Gogol’s “The Government Inspector”].
You look at him and understand that either you complete the task or you’re fucked. And we had long realised that this does not work.
...
I trust my generals. Since the start of the war I fired ten of them because they were not up to it. Another one shot himself.
...
I have no doubt about it, it is most likely that somewhere beyond the Urals, they are preparing new resources. They are 100% being prepared.
...
Our troops are all tied up in battles now, they are bleeding. They are bleeding and are being held together solely by courage, heroism and the ability of their commanders to keep the situation under control.
...
I am not an energy expert but it seems to me we are on the edge. We are balancing on a fine line. And if [the power grid] is destroyed…that is when soldiers’ wives and children start freezing. And such a scenario is possible. What kind of mood the fighters will be in, can you imagine? Without water, light and heat, can we talk about preparing reserves to keep fighting?
...
In order to reach the borders of Crimea, as of today we need to cover a distance of 84km to Melitopol. By the way, this is enough for us, because Melitopol would give us a full fire control of the land corridor, because from Melitopol we can already fire at the Crimean Isthmus, with the very same himars and so on.
...
When they say, “You get 50,000 shells”, the people who count the money faint. The biggest problem is that they really don’t have it.
With this kind of resources I can’t conduct new big operations, even though we are working on one right now. It is on the way, but you don’t see it yet. We use a lot fewer shells.
...
Russian mobilisation has worked. It is not true that their problems are so dire that these people will not fight. They will. A tsar tells them to go to war, and they go to war. I’ve studied the history of the two Chechen wars—it was the same. They may not be that well equipped, but they still present a problem for us. We estimate that they have a reserve of 1.2m-1.5m people… The Russians are preparing some 200,000 fresh troops. I have no doubt they will have another go at Kyiv.

#TransFormatorBuzzes 💤 :
Well, if you have got used to read between the lines, you can get an insight into how the Ukrainian military machin is working. The first thing you can make out is that it is completely dependent on the western military aid: resources and analysis. Ukrainian soldiers are not important, as long as they provide enough of the cannon fodder... It is a war of resources, and currently Russia is slowly but surely winning it.

Yakutsk Ice Swimmers Start Season With Freezing Dip

The Russian ice swimmers’ club ‘Sakha morzhi’ took a dip in a Yakutsk ice hole to mark the start of winter. While the air temperature was a chilly -32°C (-25.6°F), the water was a much more manageable -3°C (26.6°F).

The swimmers commented that the water was ‘lovely’ (making onlookers question their sanity), and praised the health benefits of sub-zero swimming, but they didn’t elaborate on which parts of them ended up turning blue.
