MOSCOW, December 5 - RIA Novosti. Ukraine launched an attack on military airfields in the Saratov and Ryazan regions, killing three Russian servicemen, the press service of the Ministry of Defence reported.
“On the morning of December 5, the Kyiv regime attempted to strike Soviet-made jet unmanned aerial vehicles at the Diaghilevo military airfield in the Ryazan region and the Engels military airfield in the Saratov region,” the statement said.
According to the agency, three military technical personnel were killed in the attack, four more were injured, they were provided with all the necessary medical assistance.
It is noted that Russian aviation, using air defence systems, intercepted Ukrainian UAVs flying at low altitude.
"As a result of the fall and explosion of fragments of jet drones at Russian airfields, the skin of the hull of two aircraft was slightly damaged," the ministry said.
In response, Russia has dealt a massive blow to the Ukrainian military command and control system and related defence facilities.
"Despite the attempts of the Kyiv regime to disrupt the combat work of the Russian Long-Range Aviation by a terrorist act, today at about 15:00 (Moscow time) the military command and control system and related facilities of the defence complex, communications centres, energy and military units of Ukraine were dealt a massive strike with high-precision air weapons and sea-based. All 17 designated objects were hit," the Defence Ministry said.
