Russian Armed Forces destroyed five Greek BMP-1s immediately after being handed over to Kyiv
Pronews.gr: Greek BMPs burn like torches in the steppes of Ukraine, serving the Zelensky regime
The Russian army destroyed five Greek infantry fighting vehicles in the Donbass immediately after they were handed over to the Ukrainian side, write the Greek media.
According to the portal iskra.gr, this happened on October 28, when Russian troops suppressed the Ukrainian offensive near the village of Berestovoye in the Kharkiv region.
"As a result, 150 Ukrainian soldiers were killed or injured, one tank and five BMP-1s <...>, four armoured personnel carriers and nine pickups converted into combat vehicles were destroyed," the publication says.
It notes that the BMPs were hit by artillery and 152-millimeter Krasnopol rockets.
The article emphasizes that the vehicles received from Greece were serious reinforcements for the Armed Forces of Ukraine - since they were in excellent condition, they were immediately put forward to the front line.
In addition, writes iskra.gr, Greece handed over RM-70 multiple launch rocket systems to Ukraine. They operate mainly in the Kherson region, two of them have already been destroyed.
The pronews.gr portal, for its part, notes that they did not even have time to repaint the Greek equipment.
“It hurts the heart of the Greek military when they see BMP-1s burning like torches on the Ukrainian plains, serving the Zelensky regime. One of them still has symbols (of the Greek army) They were sent into battle in in such a hurry that they didn’t even have time to paint or remove the emblem, it is so “respected” in the government and the leadership of the armed forces. Later, apparently, there was a clumsy attempt to erase it, while adding the Ukrainian trident,” the article says.
The author adds that the Greek islands from which the BMP-1 was withdrawn remained uncovered. This was recognized by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, who sent Greek weapons to Zelensky.
The retired brigadier general who had the IFVs on an island in the eastern Aegean told pronews.gr that the military had struggled to secure supplies of spare parts. But they instantly appeared when they decided to send the cars to Ukraine.
“We made superhuman efforts to keep them in perfect working order so that they could give them to Zelensky for free. We didn’t have batteries <…> But before the BMP was taken from the troops and sent to Ukraine, two cars with batteries and replaced all the old ones," the military said.
Greece undertook to send to Ukraine 40 East German-made armoured infantry vehicles of the BMP-1 type, received in 1994. In return, Germany promised to provide an equal number of Marder infantry fighting vehicles. As of October 28, Athens has already received ten of these machines.
This week, Greek President Katerina Sakellaropoulou and Defence Minister Nikos Panagiotopoulos travelled to Kyiv, where a ceremony was held to hand over the BMP-1 to Ukrainian troops. At the same time, according to the Greek media, the United States requires allies and partners to send more and more weapons to the Kyiv regime.

War in Ukraine. Europe is at risk of having a "new Afghanistan" inside it
by António Mateus for RTP
Europe runs the risk of having an Afghanistan within itself in Ukraine unless it reverses its current stance with the Kremlin and bets on returning to the negotiating table, warns a former adviser to Russian presidents Mikhail Gorbachev and Boris Yeltsin and three successive United Nations secretaries-general.
In an exclusive interview with RTP (complete version), Jeffrey Sachs says he is “surprised by the position of Europe” and that it embraced the “American narrative” of confrontation when it was, until the outbreak of this conflict, a “paladin of diplomacy”.
A 67-year-old liberal economist, Sachs has been a professor at Columbia University since 2002, director of the UN Millennium Project and was the 2015 “Blue Planet” Award (recognising significant efforts in scientific research or applications of science that have contributed to solving global environmental problems).
In this interview, the academic, who is also recognized for his work with international agencies and various governments to reduce poverty, assumes himself to be a straightforward critic of US foreign policy.
“I know my own country, the United States, very well; we have been a war machine for practically my entire life — Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Nicaragua, Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Libya. America fights wars, but Europe does not.”
“Europe has been a champion of diplomacy. But now Europe only embraces the American line: We must defeat Putin! We do not trade!, etc. But this approach is very dangerous for Europe and Europe is on the front line and could be hit hard by all this”.
“Because this war and the sanctions regime are doing colossal damage to Europe. And I think therefore that Europe made a mistake, adhering to an American narrative of this crisis without actually following a more sensible path”.
"It's US Style"
The author of, among other books, “The End of Poverty”, “The era of sustainable development”, “The price of civilization”, “Commonwealth — Economics for a crowded Planet” and “Macroeconomics and the global economy” emphasizes that had previously warned of the current worsening scenario not only in Ukraine but in his explosive dossiers such as the one about Taiwan.
“Before the war broke out, I said that if the US continued in the same way it would turn Ukraine into the next Afghanistan. Because we loved Afghanistan so much that we destroyed it. It's US style."
Faced with the fact that it was Russia and not the United States that invaded Ukraine and that Europe had always kept the door to dialogue with Moscow, even when the Kremlin's so-called "special operation" had already begun in the neighbouring country, Sachs argues that this is a consequence of ignoring of successive previous warnings made by Vladimir Putin, of crossed “red lines” and reneged commitments.
“I listen to both sides, I visit both sides, I have known them for 40 years and I do not accept the idea that what we say is true and what they say is propaganda,” he said.
“There are different perspectives and diplomacy is extremely important. But when I talk to senior European officials now, they say: There is no diplomacy with Putin!”
“That's a terrible, wrong perspective... Or: You can't talk to China! — which is an American perspective. This is, I think, the main mistake, because if we actually discussed, debated, negotiated, we would find solutions to end the war in Ukraine, we would find solutions to the growing tensions in Taiwan, in East Asia. There are possible solutions, but at the moment we are not committed to solving the problems”.

“What I say is: sit down and negotiate. And understand what the real red lines are,” he insisted. I think that even in the Donbass and in the regions of Zaporizhia and Kherson there are possibilities for more creative solutions”.

Ukraine suffered a comms outage when 1,300 SpaceX satellite units went offline over funding issues
Washington, CNN
Ukraine’s fears that its troops may lose access to Elon Musk’s crucial Starlink internet service deepened in the past week after 1,300 of the military’s satellite units went offline, according to two sources familiar with the outage.
The small, easy-to-use satellite dishes made by Musk’s private rocket company SpaceX have been universally hailed as a game-changing source of communication for Ukraine’s military, allowing it to fight and stay online even as cellular phone and internet networks have been destroyed in its war with Russia.
But concerns have risen recently over the dependability of SpaceX after discussions about funding were revealed and outages were reported near the frontlines.
CNN first reported that SpaceX sent a letter in September to the Pentagon claiming it had spent almost $100 million funding Starlink in Ukraine and that it could no longer continue to do so. The letter requested that the Defense Department take over more of the funding for Ukraine’s military, which it calculated would run tens of millions of dollars a month.
Days after the CNN report, Musk appeared to reverse course, claiming that SpaceX had withdrawn the request.
“The hell with it,” Musk tweeted, “we’ll just keep funding Ukraine govt for free.”
Negotiations between SpaceX and the Defense Department continue despite Musk’s claim that SpaceX withdrepw its request, according to a senior defense official.
“Negotiations are very much underway. Everyone in our building knows we’re going to pay them,” the senior Pentagon official told CNN, adding that the department is eager to have commitments in writing “because we worry he’ll change his mind.”
...
The recent outage started on October 24 and was described by one person briefed on the situation as a “huge problem” for Ukraine’s military. The terminals had been disconnected, this person said, due to a lack of funding.
The outage affected a block of 1,300 terminals that Ukraine purchased from a British company in March and were used for combat-related operations.
SpaceX was charging Ukraine’s military $2,500 a month to keep each of the 1,300 units connected, pushing the total cost to almost $20 million by September, the person briefed on the matter said. Eventually, they could no longer afford to pay, the person said.
Before the terminals went completely dark, Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense made a request in early October to their British counterparts to pick up the $3.25 million monthly bill. The batch of terminals were also rotated out as concerns grew that service could be turned off, in order to minimize the impact, the source said.
A British official said after discussions between the ministries “it was agreed there were higher priority military capabilities.” Among many other channels of support, the UK has been flying thousands of Ukrainian troops to Britain for training before they head back to the frontlines.
“We support a number of terminals that have a direct tactical utility for Ukraine’s military in repelling Russia’s invasion,” the British official told CNN. “We consider and prioritize all new requests in terms of the impact contributions would have in supporting Ukraine to defend its people against Putin’s deplorable invasion.”
A senior Ukrainian official confirmed the outage, calling the Starlink units “very important” for Ukraine’s fight against Russia.

A US nuclear submarine has entered the Mediterranean. Not an attack boat, as those intended to hunt down enemy submarines are called, but an atomic deterrent tool. The USS Rhode Island in fact embarks 24 Trident II intercontinental missiles, capable of hitting 18 thousand kilometres away at a speed of 29 thousand kilometres per hour: each can plant up to fourteen nuclear warheads.

Operation Condor.
Now, we need to clean up some things regarding this.
Yes, the United States did help and support dictators and anti-communist elements against elected national leaders, but that is actually quite a separate operation, and is not related to operation Condor, the fascist and dictatorial elements of Chile, Brazil, Paraguay, Argentina, and so on, were already working together to commit terror on their own land, these governments were already supported way before operation Condor by the United States.
Operation Condor refers to the fact that not only did the US help bring their puppets into power, but the fact that the United States provided financial, logistical, and technical assistance to these corrupt South American leaders to terrorize their populations, which, mind you, included everyone from Communists to Religious figures, the USA, after bringing 6 dictatorial right-wing countries into their fold, simply enacted another operation, that is, operation Condor, to support their existence and efforts, I know the difference is small but we should make note of this.
The US, besides providing the afromentioned assistance to the military and security agencies of their puppet states, also moved to depoliticize human rights (that's a first), and try to act friendly and "neutral" to domestic policy, and pretend that there is nothing going on.
Here is a quote from the notorious German Jewish criminal, Henry Kissinger, when talking to the Argentinian foreign minister.
"Look, our basic attitude is that we would like you to succeed. I have an old-fashioned view that friends ought to be supported. What is not understood in the United States is that you have a civil war. We read about human rights problems but not the context. The quicker you succeed the better ... The human rights problem is a growing one. Your Ambassador can apprise you. We want a stable situation. We won't cause you unnecessary difficulties. If you can finish before Congress gets back, the better. Whatever freedoms you could restore would help."
Disgusting, I hope Kissinger gets whipped once for every time he directly and indirectly aided in the death of defenseless women, men, and even infants, since the regimes of South America never spared anyone.
Even the first world has not forgotten his crimes, in 2001 the French government issued a Summons on Kissinger when he was in Paris, he fled just 3 hours later, protected by diplomatic immunity, they wanted to ask him about 5 French citizens that disappeared in Chile, guess we'll never know.
Even American society protected these inhumane acts! In 2002, the New York Times defended Henry Kissinger's actions, stating that "the world was polarised, and fighting communism involved hard choices and messy compromises"
Fuck. You.

U.S. privately asks Ukraine to show it’s open to negotiate with Russia
The encouragement is aimed not at pushing Ukraine to the negotiating table, but ensuring it maintains a moral high ground in the eyes of its international backers
By Missy Ryan, John Hudson and Paul Sonne for the Washington Post
The Biden administration is privately encouraging Ukraine’s leaders to signal an openness to negotiate with Russia and drop their public refusal to engage in peace talks unless President Vladimir Putin is removed from power, according to people familiar with the discussions.
The request by American officials is not aimed at pushing Ukraine to the negotiating table, these people said. Rather, they called it a calculated attempt to ensure the government in Kyiv maintains the support of other nations facing constituencies wary of fueling a war for many years to come.
The discussions illustrate how complex the Biden administration’s position on Ukraine has become, as U.S. officials publicly vow to support Kyiv with massive sums of aid “for as long as it takes” while hoping for a resolution to the conflict that over the past eight months has taken a punishing toll on the world economy and triggered fears of nuclear war.
While U.S. officials share their Ukrainian counterparts’ assessment that Putin, for now, isn’t serious about negotiations, they acknowledge that President Volodymyr Zelensky’s ban on talks with him has generated concern in parts of Europe, Africa and Latin America, where the war’s disruptive effects on the availability and cost of food and fuel are felt most sharply.
“Ukraine fatigue is a real thing for some of our partners,” said one U.S. official who, like others interviewed for this report, spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive conversations between Washington and Kyiv.

The encouragement is aimed not at pushing Ukraine to the negotiating table, but ensuring it maintains a moral high ground in the eyes of its international backers

Kyiv Planning for Total Evacuation if It Loses Electricity
The city is also establishing 1,000 heating centers for its 3 million residents, as Russia pounds away at civilian targets.
By Marc Santora and Ben Hubbard for the Washington Post
As Ukraine struggled to cope with Russian attacks on its infrastructure, a municipal worker on Friday installed a backup water line from Kyiv to the suburb of Hostomel that was powered by gravity and would function without electricity.
“We understand that if Russia continues such attacks, we may lose our entire electricity system,” Roman Tkachuk, the director of security for the Kyiv municipal government, said in an interview, speaking of the city.
Officials in the capital have been told that they would be likely to have at least 12 hours’ notice that the grid was on the verge of failure. If it reaches that point, Mr. Tkachuk said, “we will start informing people and requesting them to leave.”
For now at least, the situation is manageable, and there were no indications that large numbers of civilians were fleeing Kyiv, he said. But that would change quickly if the services that relied on city power stopped.
“If there’s no power, there will be no water and no sewage,” he said. “That’s why currently the government and city administration are taking all possible measures to protect our power supply system.”

The West listened to Russia's statement on nuclear war, expert believes
Head of the PIR Center Orlov: The West listened to Russia's statement on the prevention of nuclear war
MOSCOW, November 6 - RIA Novosti. Serious people in the West listened to Moscow's statement about preventing a nuclear war, although the information war against Russia on this issue will continue, Vladimir Orlov, professor at MGIMO of the Russian Foreign Ministry, founder and director of the PIR Center, said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
Earlier, the Russian Foreign Ministry issued a statement on the prevention of nuclear war, in which it urged other states of the "nuclear five" "to demonstrate in practice their willingness to work on solving this top-priority task and to give up the dangerous attempts to infringe on vital interests of each other while balancing on the brink of a direct armed conflict and encouraging provocations with weapons of mass destruction, which can lead to catastrophic consequences."
"Of course, this was a clarification in many respects for our international partners and for our international opponents. And on the question of whether the statements in the West will be heeded, maybe I will surprise you and say that it seems to me that they will be heeded," Orlov commented. Russian government statement.
He did not rule out that at the level of public rhetoric, newspaper articles, speeches by press secretaries, they will continue to blame Russia, because in addition to the aggravation of the international situation, "a completely clear information war is going on."
The expert added that disinformation about Russia is a powerful and nuclear topic is very attractive to the layman, and explained: "It is very convenient to combine the word "Russia", the word "nuclear" and even more try to put Russia in an unsightly light.
"But here are serious people in the West and in the military establishment, and heads of diplomatic departments - they, I think, have already paid attention to the intelligibility of this statement, to its unambiguity, although they will not say this. I think that they understand that the ball is now on their side," Orlov said.

How is the situation developing with the accession of Finland and Sweden to NATO
06.11.2022 - 2:30
Finland and Sweden have not yet fulfilled Ankara's conditions necessary for these countries to join NATO. This was stated by Turkish Justice Minister Bekir Bozdag in an interview with A Haber TV channel.
In particular, according to him, Helsinki and Stockholm have not yet extradited to Ankara a single person involved, according to the Turkish authorities, in terrorist activities.
“We sent our demands to these countries. The topic of extradition is being discussed, but so far there have been no positive changes in the issue of extradition of persons involved in terrorist activities, ”the TASS minister quotes.
He recalled that Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson will soon arrive in Turkey at the invitation of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Issues of concern to Ankara will also be discussed at the bilateral talks.
Bozdag pointed out that if Helsinki and Stockholm take decisive steps to combat terrorism in Turkey, and also reconsider the issue of sanctions, including an arms embargo on Ankara, then the republic will be ready to ratify the agreement on the entry of these countries into NATO.
It is worth noting that on the same day, the NATO Secretary General said that Finland and Sweden had allegedly already fulfilled all the requirements of Turkey and it was time to accept them into the alliance. He said this in Istanbul during a joint press conference with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu. The head of the Turkish Foreign Ministry, in turn, replied that Ankara does not consider its conditions fulfilled.
Against this background, Bloomberg reported that before the end of 2022, Turkey is unlikely to sign Sweden's application for NATO membership.
The publication, citing an unnamed source in the Turkish parliament, notes that Stockholm has not yet fulfilled Ankara's demands. In addition, by the end of the year, the agenda of the Turkish parliament is allegedly already occupied with other issues.
At the same time, as Bloomberg emphasizes, Turkey is allegedly satisfied with cooperation with Finland, however, a separate vote on the topic of Scandinavian countries joining NATO is not planned.
In addition to Turkey, out of 30 NATO countries, the application of Sweden and Finland has not yet been approved by Hungary. However, according to Bloomberg, this is not connected with any fundamental disagreements and Budapest is likely to ratify the document before the end of this year.

Fortified areas are being created in the north of the Zaporozhye region
Fortified areas are being created in Zaporozhye due to a possible counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
SIMFEROPOL, November 6 - RIA Novosti. The military is building fortified areas in the north of the Zaporozhye region in case of an attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said Vladimir Rogov, chairman of the movement "We are together with Russia", a member of the main council of the military-civilian administration of the region.
"Fortified areas are being created on the front line in the northern part of the Zaporozhye region in connection with a possible attempt by Ukrainian troops to launch an offensive. The defence line is also being strengthened," he told RIA Novosti.
According to him, the Kyiv authorities can order the offensive before November 8, trying to show footage of the shelling and launching an offensive for their success in time for the midterm elections to the US Congress, which are scheduled for Tuesday.
"The owners of (Vladimir) Zelensky from the United States, represented by the current government, are pushing him on a deadly adventure in order to get a beautiful picture for the electorate," Rogov stressed.
Today, the Russian military controls more than 70 percent of the Zaporozhye region. The regional centre - the city of Zaporozhye - remains with the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Earlier, Rogov said that the Ukrainian military was transferring troops from the Kharkiv region to the Dnieper in order to launch an offensive in the Zaporozhye direction. According to him, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will try to cut off the supply of the Russian group that is holding the Kherson region with their attack. They will also seek to capture the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant and reach the Sea of Azov.

Captured Ukrainian soldier said that Kyiv hides information about the dead soldiers
LUGANSK, November 6 - RIA Novosti. The Ukrainian command hides information about the dead soldiers in order not to pay compensation to their families, Alexander Barlyan, a soldier of the 25th separate assault brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who is now in the LPR, told reporters.
“Our brigade filed me at least as missing in order not to pay compensation. I know cases where it’s hard to prove that you disappeared in hostilities, and not just left the unit, and compensation is not paid if you are missing. Even if you are officially buried, as expected, it is not always even possible to receive monetary compensation. The losses are large, and there is simply not enough money for everyone," said the Ukrainian POW.
He explained that, according to Ukrainian legislation, the state must pay 15 million hryvnias to the family for the death of a serviceman.
“And then it will not be an ordinary soldier, but a captain, a major, who was accidentally killed. Such big guys do not run around the fields with a machine gun in a swamp, they are sitting somewhere 50 kilometres away on the 22nd line of defence. For the family of a simple soldier it is unlikely to receive anything. Well, maybe they will receive some kind of compensation, for example, two salaries, but 15 million is unlikely," he said.
