The expectations of many people from this mission were overstated and unjustified, political analyst Alexey Anpilogov told @Sputnik.

The IAEA has only strictly defined functions. The visit to the NPP initially went beyond all the tasks that the organization undertook in the past.

There have never been similar incidents in world history when a nuclear facility is subjected to systematic artillery shelling.

The IAEA simply does not have specialists who would be competent in military operations. They are not authorized to determine the direction of attacks, calibers, and so on.

On the other hand, there were statements about the presence of ballistics specialists in the mission. In this case, we may be talking about a conscious blockade of information.

The head of the IAEA cannot determine who is shelling the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant

MOSCOW, September 6 - RIA Novosti. The head of the IAEA, Rafael Grossi, said on the air of the CNN television channel that he was not able to establish who was shelling the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant.
“I can’t determine it. We don’t have the funds for this. As you know, you would need to monitor the military operation in the region ... which is not only beyond the mandate of the IAEA, but would also require a huge capacity,” he emphasized.

The IAEA report on nuclear safety in Ukraine was published today, a significant part of it is devoted to the recent mission of experts to the ZNPP. Grossi's director general will brief the UN Security Council on the trip on Tuesday.
Last week, an agency delegation led by Rafael Grossi visited the facility, which has been under the control of the Russian military since March. Representatives of "Rosatom" and employees of the Zaporizhzhya NPP led the guests around the station and showed traces of shelling.
As Mikhail Ulyanov, Russia's permanent representative to international organizations in Vienna, told RIA Novosti, two IAEA employees will remain at the ZNPP on a permanent basis.
Zaporozhye NPP is located on the left bank of the Dnieper near the town of Energodar. This is the largest nuclear power plant in Europe in terms of the number of units and installed capacity - the plant has six power units with a capacity of one gigawatt each. The Ukrainian military continues to regularly shell Energodar and the territory of the facility adjacent to the city.

Russia regrets that the IAEA in its report does not indicate the source of the shelling of the Zaporozhye NPP, said the Russian ambassador to the UN Nebenzia.

Izyum Front: the situation near Balakleya

Today, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, after a long artillery preparation along Balakleya, Izyum, logistics routes and warehouses of the RF Armed Forces, launched an attack on Balakleya from the west from Andreevka.

🔻Due to its geographical position, without control over Balakliya, it is difficult to secure the northwestern flank of the group based in Izyum. The Ukrainian formations did not enter the Camp area located on the western bank of the Balakleyka River to the north of its tributary (the Lyakhovaya River). There is also no confirmation of the presence of the RF Armed Forces in this area.

▪️Reports have been received about the advance of the Russian Armed Forces south of the village of Bayrak and the expansion of the control zone towards Gusarovka. But so far there are no facts that could confirm this.
