The Zaporozhye NPP, after another shelling by the Ukrainian troops, is operating normally, "arrivals" at the facility were not allowed, Rogov, a representative of the administration of the Zaporizhzhya region, told RIA Novosti

Basically that means, that Russian air defence may be very effective, unfortunately not everywhere.

The UN Secretariat blocked without explanation the visit of the IAEA representatives to the Zaporozhye NPP

Russian representative Mikhail Ulyanov said that the IAEA had requested assistance from the UN Secretariat to organize a mission to the Zaporozhye NPP. Nothing is required from the secretariat, except for a simple permission, all risks are assumed by the IAEA mission.

Nevertheless, the UN secretariat refused, and did not bother to clearly explain the reasons.

Explanation is simple - they don't want to admit the truth about who actually is shelling the plant. That would mean that Zelensky lied publicly. So, Zelensky's public face is more important than the safety of millions of Ukrainians and Europeans.

Retreating Ukrainian troops from Pisky open fire on the trenches where their “brothers” surrendered to the Somalia battalion fighters.

The fighter instructs the POWs to take cover and hide.

“Everyone in the dugout, in the fox hole! Guys, don’t stand here, come in carefully, with God, everything will be fine,” the group commander told the Ukrainian POWs.

The commander also showed how he took care of his own group, remained calm and organized his infantry to cover.

Today, the US still maintains its position as the world’s largest economy and no doubt the largest military, but experts believe the winds of change are upon us as new rising powers seek to displace those at the top.

The West and Ukraine will teach Amnesty International how to write CORRECT reports

Amnesty International released a report alleging that the Ukrainian military violates the rules of war by placing artillery and soldiers in educational institutions and in close proximity to residential buildings. Hysteria began in Ukraine, and the collective West hinted that "the report was written incorrectly."

Now "international experts", including representatives of Ukraine, will take part in processing the report so that it looks the way it should.

Surely in the processed report, the Ukrainian Nazis will help grandmothers to cross the road under heavy fire. And the servicemen who died in educational institutions will turn out to be heroes who protected children with their bodies during lessons.

It’s hardly surprising that China feels emboldened. Xi Jinping must look at America and see not just a superpower in decline but a gerontocracy that has lost its marbles.
Last week, Nancy Pelosi, the 82-year-old Speaker of the House of Representatives, visited Taiwan as a gesture of solidarity, in spite of China’s fierce warnings that her arrival would be treated as a grave provocation. Presumably Pelosi felt that, by not being cowed, she’d shown China who’s still global boss. And other photo-opportunistic politicians are expected now to imitate her. What for, though? In the following days, China intensified its military drills around the Taiwan Strait. Some experts reckon that the Chinese Communist party used Pelosi’s visit as an excuse to carry out an invasion rehearsal. Well played, Nancy.
Meanwhile, the 79-year-old Commander-in-Chief fumbles on and on. Last week, Joe Biden’s White House tried to redefine the word ‘recession’ in order to stop America being officially in one. Joe and his wife, Jill, visited a flood in Kentucky, which is what presidents and first ladies are meant to do. On the way back, however, the old man couldn’t get on his jacket as he stepped off the Marine One helicopter. Jill had to help him, and he dropped his sunglasses on the tarmac. Barely a day goes by without Biden stumbling in some way and it all adds to an overwhelming sense that the President is too decrepit.
Don’t feel too sorry for him, though. Pity the families of the 12,400 Americans who have been shot dead this year, as gun crime hits levels not seen in US cities since the early 1990s. Or pity the American infants who can’t be fed. For several months, the US has been suffering an acute shortage of baby milk formula. ‘The babies are crying and the babies are hungry,’ said Pelosi back in May. She and Biden promised urgently to address the issue – caused, it seems, by a combination of lingering pandemic-related supply-chain issues and America’s leading baby milk producer having to shut down one of its plants over health and safety concerns. It’s mid-August and the baby formula crisis hasn’t been resolved.
Such problems are not meant to happen in the most highly evolved capitalist economy in the world. Yet America, as Xi will have noticed, seems in many ways to be regressing fast.

Read more here.

Is it just me, or there are more criticism of the US administration in the mainstream media recently? Is there something interesting looming on the horizon?

Ukrainians who fled to Europe are forced to go to work for such actions.

Lying on the streets of Paris is "a public protest against the activities of French companies that continue economic ties with the Russian Federation." There is an action, by the way, twice a week.

Let them lie there for now - there is an abnormal heat in Europe, they will not catch a cold. We will see how they will continue when the heatwave would change into the rainy weather with the North wind.

Amnesty International is backing down!

The organisation said its report, which alleged violations of humanitarian and military law by Ukrainian troops, would be verified by "independent experts".

Amnesty said the results of the report "were not conveyed with the sensitivity and accuracy" it was expected to have.

It wants to be "directly involved in the processing" and "to understand exactly what went wrong and why, so that lessons can be learned from it".

About the report

▪️ Amnesty International published a report on 4 August saying that the Ukrainian military was placing weapons in schools and hospitals, putting civilians at risk.

▪️ The head of Amnesty's Ukrainian bureau resigned because she "disagreed on values" with the leadership.

▪️ Zelensky, his office and a number of European politicians, particularly those in the Baltics, have strongly condemned the report.

▪️ On 7 August, Amnesty said it regretted the pain and anger the report had caused, but stressed it was not retracting the findings.

About Amnesty International

▪️ Calls its mission "to research and take action to prevent and eradicate gross human rights violations".

▪️ Receives funding from a number of governments and international bodies, including the US State Department, the British authorities and the European Commission.

▪️ According to media reports, it receives substantial funds from US billionaire George Soros through his Open Society Foundation.

Yes, the whole system is hopelessly outdated.
Yes, no one wants to change anything (at least not yet).

But the potential for internal stability in Russia can be assessed as 9 points out of 10, and no abrupt changes occur in such large and inertial systems. And this is the saddest news for those people abroad who, due to their short-sightedness, bet on Ukraine’s victory.

A bear, like an elephant, is not very efficient in a china shop. But the glass mug has no chance against the elephant. It's math, and math never fails.

Translated from MIG channel.
It is a very deep thought, delivered in a simple form. Especially for those who continue criticising Russian government for slow decision making process and lack of fast solutions to the challenges of the military operation in Ukraine.

A record drought has already affected about 50% of Europe. This is the worst figure in 500 (!) years.

Spain's water reservoirs are usually 60% full at this time, but today they are only 40% full. In France, drinking water is delivered by trucks. Farmers in Italy fear that 60% of their crops will be lost.

The shallowing of the Rhine caused problems with navigation (oil and iron are being transported along it). If the situation does not change, hunger will become tangibly real. Poverty awaits Europe: there will be no water, food, gas, coal, oil, plus record inflation and the absence of tourists from Russia. New European reality.

DROUGHT IN EUROPE REMADE VISIBLE "HUNGER STONES" IN CZECH AND GERMAN RIVERS

Previously, it was these stones that were used to indicate desperately low water levels in rivers, which foreshadowed famine.

In the picture you can see a stone from 1616, which stood out due to a drought on the Elbe River.

It says: "If you see me, cry"

Oleg Tsarev and military reporter Sladkov raised the question of how important truth is in relations between the state and society, especially given that "War is a path of deceit" and "truth is the first victim of war."

The question is formulated like this: is it necessary to tell the truth to society, even if the truth is bitter?

The main thing is to avoid inept clumsy lies. You know, that's how a delinquent child lies to his parents. It is obvious that you can see the misconduct, you can see the guilt, and the child continues to lie to you looking into your eyes. This should not be.

Consider lies as an applied policy tool. Lying is appropriate when you are trying to deceive the enemy or avoid panic. But the lie must be so convincing that it is easy to believe in it for yourself. Actually, you should start believing it first, then it is not a lie anymore.

There is nothing worse in the post-media age than an inept lie that is easily exposed.

In an applied sense, the question of whether to lie or not to lie must be answered depending on what you want from society. If your society is totalitarian, if criticism is criminally punishable, if all channels of information are under control, and all you need from people is the execution of orders and instructions, then lying is more than an appropriate tool.

But if there is a certain pluralism of opinions in your state, there is a certain level of freedom of information and judgement, and most importantly, it is crucial for you that society takes the initiative (as in our case), a lie is not only inappropriate, but harms trust and public mobilization, on which you may count.

Therefore, lying where you need good will, initiative, and the rise of patriotic feeling is inappropriate.

On the abolition of the Schengen visas for Russians

Translated from Oleg Tzarev

German government spokesman Steffen Hebeshtreit said that a ban on the issuance of Schengen visas to all Russians without exception could be included in the seventh package of European sanctions against Russia.

Now this measure is being discussed by the EU countries, the German Foreign Ministry clarified that the proposal includes a ban on issuing visas not only to tourists, but also to journalists, dissidents and even relatives of EU citizens.
The discussion is planned to be held at the end of August at a meeting of EU foreign ministers in Prague. The European Commission has officially stated that it does not have the legislative ability to ban entry to Russians at the EU level, but each of the countries has the right to complicate the rules for obtaining their visas.

Let me remind you that Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas proposed not to let Russians into the EU, Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavsky supported the proposal to ban the issuance of Schengen visas to Russians. And a number of countries (the Baltic States, Denmark, the Netherlands, Malta, Belgium, Slovakia) have already suspended the issuance of visas, Finland intends to tighten transit rules, Sweden does not rule out similar measures.

The adoption of a ban on issuing visas to Russians in the EU is quite realistic. The West believes that this will blow up Russia from the inside. And because it will limit the opportunities for those who have them today, and because it will force some of the oppositionists who “temporarily left” the country to return. I do not think that the forecasts of the West in this regard will come true. Firstly, those who really need it have got EU passports or residents permits and do not need visas. Secondly, statistics show that very few of our compatriots regularly visited the countries of the Schengen zone: according to the study, in 2021, 536.2 thousand applications for a Schengen visa were submitted in Russia. Certainly, against the background of more than 145 million inhabitants of the country, this is not much.

I am against any restrictions on the freedom of movement, especially for those who were in a hurry to leave the country because of any reasons, but in my view it will cause an increase in travel and tourism to Asia and Africa as well as a development in the domestic tourism opportunities.

Latvian President Egils Levits called for the cancellation of residence permits and visas of Russians.

Egils Levits said the current policy of issuing residence permits and visas is "unjustified generosity" and previous governments "created security risks and promoted bilingualism."

Mr. Egils' statement looks extremely surprising, given his ethnicity. Being a Jew by blood, he essentially extrapolates the practices of Nazi Germany applied to his own people.

Almost along the entire front line in the Donbass, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is withdrawing officers.

The conscripts are thrown into the first line, combat brigades are not brought into battle. They are transferred to help the "disposables" only if there is a clear threat of a breakthrough.

The artillery of the Nazis does not spare both their own and ours at the time of the attack. Our boys have even begun to carry out imitation attacks, so that Ukrainian artillery barrage their own positions. And it works well. The day before, near Avdeevka, the Nazis destroyed a whole company of conscripted from Zhytomyr.

They do not spare their people at all, and this is why the tenth round of forced conscription in Ukraine is already underway.
