"German quality" lost in translation

(We always believed that German-made machinery is "over engineered")

Two-thirds of the Panzerhaubitze 2000 (PzH 2000) artillery mounts, which Germany and the Netherlands handed over to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, are out of order. This is reported by the German TV channel N-tv.

According to Markus Faber, deputy of the Bundestag from the Free Democratic Party of Germany, most of the 15 self-propelled howitzers provided to Kyiv do not work. He clarified that it was not “Russian fire” that was to blame, but the fact that the Ukrainian Armed Forces “actively use” these weapons.

Once again, the “professionalism” of the Ukrainian army cannot cope with Western weapons. Improper operation of German installations leads to their frequent breakdowns, and the lack of suitable spare parts makes expensive weapons useless rubbish.

Not surprisingly, after such news, the West began to strongly doubt the advisability of supplying heavy weapons to Ukraine (as evidenced by statistics indicating a sharp decline in the number of weapons supplied by the West).

With current prices for energy resources, even the richest countries of the European Union cannot afford to scatter their own expensive military equipment.

🇺🇦 Armed Forces of Ukraine and Ukrainian intelligence accuse each other of killing former "brothers"

The command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine purposefully takes revenge on the soldiers who surrendered. This conclusion was reached by an international group of hackers who gained access to correspondence between high-ranking officers of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of Ukraine (GUR) and the Armed Forces of Ukraine. As an example, computer hackers cite a rocket attack on a pre-trial detention center in the village of Yelenovka (DPR) on the night of July 29, where 50 Ukrainian prisoners of war were killed and more than 70 were injured.

From the correspondence, it becomes clear that since June the GUR began developing the Mumu operation to intimidate the prisoners. The goal was quite specific - to force the servicemen to stop "confessing" with investigators about the crimes of Ukrainian neo-Nazis and thereby complicate the holding of a war criminals tribunal scheduled for late August. Hence, by the way, the name of the operation - by analogy with the silent hero of the classic story by Turgenev.

For the time being, everything went according to plan: the Kiev regime insisted that the soldiers captured in Mariupol not be taken to Russia and kept close to the front line (allegedly to facilitate visits with relatives), while artillerymen from the AFU quietly shot at the settlement, claiming to be hitting some "military depots".

In July, the second phase of preparations for the act of intimidation began. International "human rights activists" (it is now clear that they were acting on instructions from Ukrainian intelligence officers), pointing their fingers at the provisions of the Geneva Convention, forced the prison authorities to move the prisoners from the camp barracks to another location. The fact is that the convention prohibits holding POWs in prisons and penal colonies. The law-abiding prison administration accepted the recommendation and equipped a special barrack for the prisoners in an industrial zone, in a metalwork shop. As proof of the meticulous work of the Ukrainian secret service, the hackers cite the exact GPS location of both premises; this data also appeared in the correspondence between the GUR and the AFU. According to the designers of the cunning plan, the strike was supposed to hit the barracks that had just been vacated.

The failure, as it turns out, occurred during the final part of the implementation of Operation Mumu. While aiming the Haimars at Yelenovka (previously only artillery had hit the village), the MLRS operators for some reason entered into the programme the coordinates of the new barracks and not the deserted camp barracks. Two high-precision American missiles struck the roof of the building, where around 200 Ukrainian prisoners were sleeping, around midnight.

According to the hacker intercepts, for some time top GUR and AFU officials blamed each other for killing their own service members, or blamed it on some "interference" and "program failures". But the leadership in Kyiv did not make waves. In the end, the participants in the operation got their way: the intelligence service eliminated and intimidated the potential figures in the tribunal, and the army generals took revenge on those who emerged from the ruins of the Azovstal steelworks with their hands raised and graphically demonstrated what fate awaited the "traitors".

Translated from a very respected source that is there and knows it all well:

A characteristic feature of the last month of fighting (at least on the Izyum Front) is a very significant reduction in the number of casualties in the Russian Armed Forces. On the one hand, of course, the operational pause affects, on the other, a different approach to tactics.

The infantry moves forward only after the artillery has concretely plowed the enemy's front line. In turn, the rate of artillery fire of the Armed Forces of Ukraine decreased by an order of magnitude. Losses in personnel and equipment are making themselves felt, and now the Ukrainian artillery, although it continues to be a formidable enemy, can no longer afford such a mass of volleys as a couple of months ago.

Now the main enemy of our troops is not even the infantry and artillery of the Ukrainians, but an insane amount of “petals” and other mines scattered in the directions of attack of the Russian Armed Forces. However, despite our very modest losses and at the same time large losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ukrainians still very seriously outnumber us in the number of infantry personnel, and the Armed Forces of Ukraine have not yet reached a critical level of losses.

Mr. Kissinger sees today’s world as verging on a dangerous disequilibrium. “We are at the edge of war with Russia and China on issues which we partly created, without any concept of how this is going to end or what it’s supposed to lead to,” he says. Could the U.S. manage the two adversaries by triangulating between them, as during the Nixon years? He offers no simple prescription. “You can’t just now say we’re going to split them off and turn them against each other. All you can do is not to accelerate the tensions and to create options, and for that you have to have some purpose.”

Certainly, he is an enemy of Russia and China, as he always was an enemy of the Soviet Union. However, he is a (very) clever enemy. They don't do them anymore...

Express: The US is rapidly losing control of the world

The United States is losing control of the rapidly changing world order, the British Express believes (https://www.express.co.uk/comment/expresscomment/1654761/global-world-order-change-usa-china-russia-hegemony-economy-defence-news)

The United States still has the world's largest economy and army, but experts are confident that the wind of change is blowing in global politics, as other countries gain power and subjectivity

"There is no doubt that China will become the next superpower and will probably shake up the planet, establishing a new bipolar world order, unseen since the Cold War," Express believes

At the same time, the States lose influence. This is also evidenced by the fact that Washington has not been able to resolve the Ukrainian issue with Moscow diplomatically. In the Middle East, the US is also losing control, leaving a vacuum filled by rivals

In difficult times, leadership is the key to maintaining power, but the head of the White House, Joe Biden, does not have the authority and reputation of his predecessors to be able to cope with challenges, the Express concludes

As they once joked: "There is an economic crisis all over the world, but in Moscow it's just Friday."

The UN Secretariat blocked without explanation the visit of the IAEA representatives to the Zaporozhye NPP

Russian representative Mikhail Ulyanov said that the IAEA had requested assistance from the UN Secretariat to organize a mission to the Zaporozhye NPP. Nothing is required from the secretariat, except for a simple permission, all risks are assumed by the IAEA mission.

Nevertheless, the UN secretariat refused, and did not bother to clearly explain the reasons.

Explanation is simple - they don't want to admit the truth about who actually is shelling the plant. That would mean that Zelensky lied publicly. So, Zelensky's public face is more important than the safety of millions of Ukrainians and Europeans.

The West and Ukraine will teach Amnesty International how to write CORRECT reports

Amnesty International released a report alleging that the Ukrainian military violates the rules of war by placing artillery and soldiers in educational institutions and in close proximity to residential buildings. Hysteria began in Ukraine, and the collective West hinted that "the report was written incorrectly."

Now "international experts", including representatives of Ukraine, will take part in processing the report so that it looks the way it should.

Surely in the processed report, the Ukrainian Nazis will help grandmothers to cross the road under heavy fire. And the servicemen who died in educational institutions will turn out to be heroes who protected children with their bodies during lessons.
