When we were told about what had happened, we thought that the guys obviously messed something up. Okay, the RPG shell didn’t explode (it happens), but how could it not to tear off his leg? It's huge. It turned out it could. If the leg is even bigger.

In general, the story is this: a shell from an RPG-26 flew into the leg of our huge Ivanovo paratrooper, and her calibre, for a second, was 72.5 mm. It was supposed to kill or, at least, tear off his leg — just imagine, such a thing flies at a speed of 144 meters per second. But it didn’t break, it didn’t cut off his leg. Just stuck and hung. And it began to scare everyone — both the evacuation group and the team of doctors. Could have exploded. The surgeon didn’t even get into the bulletproof vest, he said, it’s better to let it kill right away than leave him without hands — how can I live and not operate? Of course, even in a bulletproof vest he would have been killed. But he wanted concrete confidence. The rest of the brigade, by the way, were equipped with the vests. No one refused to participate in the operation. Before, as expected, they called the sappers. They replied that it could detonate at any second, wait for us. The chances of saving the leg decreased with every second — so they did not wait and proceeded.

Praying, everyone entered the operating room. The surgeon began to twist the projectile out of his leg. Carefully, so as not to tear your leg — all of a sudden there is something that survived, it will be possible to collect it, although it is unlikely. Unscrewed. Touched, took a picture. Both vessels and bones, in theory, with difficulty, but could be gathered. And they got them together. The fighter's leg was saved.

Think about it: for the sake of a seemingly imaginary chance to save a leg, a whole team of doctors is risking their lives. They took risk and won.

Other doctors in some other country could drink tea, wait for the sappers and amputate the lower part of the leg, then telling the fighter that they followed the instructions, did everything possible and in general it’s easier — in six months you will be running with a prosthesis. That's what others could do. But not ours.

The first sounds of shooting were heard at about 3:50 am at the Olenevka Village campsite in the village of Olenevka. Eyewitnesses say that there were shots, presumably from RPGs. When people woke up and left the houses and tents on the beach, they saw two rubber boats not far from the shore. There were 10 unknowns in them. One of them fired at the campsite. But he hit only once, after which the group disappeared.

From the point where the shooting took place, to the Ukrainian Ochakov, about 140 kilometers by water. By speedboat — 3-4 hours. According to one version, it could be an attempt to arrange a "show with the Ukrainian flag in the Crimea" for the present day of Ukraine's independence.

Source: Four boats with Ukrainian saboteurs were destroyed near Cape Tarkhankut in the west of Crimea. Russian security forces eliminated the DRG at sea at about four in the morning. Members of this group previously opened fire on a campsite with people in Olenevka.

About the landing of Ukrainian DRGs on Tarkhankut and the consequences of false reports

At night, from two to four high-speed boats landed in the Olenevka area on Cape Tarkhankut, conducted demonstrative firing from a grenade launcher at the camera and departed back, from where they went to Burlacha Balka.

This is the second incident in the Cape area in the past few days. Only recently, the Armed Forces of Ukraine carried out a combined attack, as a result of which the S-300 air defence system was destroyed, and now they have already landed on the shore.

🔻 The activity of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near the Crimean peninsula is becoming increasingly high. Claims about the destruction of four boats are, of course, good, but false reports make us turn a blind eye to the existing gaps in the defence.

It is not without reason that the Armed Forces of Ukraine have been probing the soil near the Crimea for several weeks, looking for loopholes for the landing operation for which the British were preparing them. And Tarkhankut is the most convenient place for this kind of action.

🔻The coastline of the cape is almost flush with the sea, which makes it ideal for approaching small boats. And if now it was just a showy sortie, then what prevented them from climbing the hill and hitting a military facility there?

The fact that Ukrainian formations are planning operations in Crimea is already a fact. And in this case, instead of rosy reports, it is more expedient to do everything possible to stop such activity. Especially in places with a large concentration of civilians.

Last night, many people on both sides of the ocean breathed a sigh of relief, and some opened champagne. Others sincerely mourned and refused to believe what had happened. The death of Yevgeny Prigozhin became a predictable and expected event — he was a desirable target for all intelligence agencies in the world, as well as for many personal enemies. He constantly tested death for strength even where it was unnecessary for people of his status: he recorded stand-ups under shelling, travelled to the red zone, personally negotiated with representatives of the darkest organizations and structures, from which he could easily not return alive.

But at the same time, the security measures around the businessman and the head of the Wagner PMC have always been exemplary, so at first I didn’t believe in what had happened and I wanted to find another Prigozhin media manoeuvre in this. So it was in Popasnaya, when he used himself as bait and provoked a strike on the former headquarters of the "Wagnerites" in order to "catch" the Himars rocket for research.

The exact sequence of events will be established by the investigation, but for now it is known that the fatal flight completed the chain of movements of Prigozhin after a week-long and very successful business trip to Africa, in which he and his team travelled around several countries, held a series of negotiations and was very optimistic.

However, he always retained irony, considering himself capable of recovering from any fall. Prigozhin called the tragedy in Khsham on February 8, 2018 the first truly difficult moment — it became sudden and paralyzing news to him. But it was necessary to act: “The first is to take out the three hundredths, the second is to bury the two hundredths, and then it somehow went on, it became clear that life goes on,” Prigozhin himself said.

Even the loss of all assets and the death itself, the head of the PMC "Wagner" did not consider something worthy of regret. He told how once in Libya he and his commanders were driving through the desert, lost their way, got lost and stumbled upon a military jeep stuck in the sand. Several skeletons sat in it, one of which continued to hold the steering wheel. They were blown by a hot wind, blowing scraps of fabric. The picture delighted Prigogine — he considered such a death ideal: at speed, in a military vehicle, in the middle of an endless desert, after being hit by Bayraktar, for example.

He invented the phrase about “the best in hell” himself and hated it when someone looked for good in him — he wanted to look as infernal as possible and considered himself a manifestation of pure evil. Although Prigozhin admitted that in his cynicism and military ingenuity he is far from the commander of the Wagner PMC Dmitry Utkin.

In the event of his death, which Prigogine was firmly convinced of, he had long ago prepared a plan of action for both his military and business and political assets. The businessman, in his own words, broke up with his wife a couple of years ago, although he maintained normal relations with her, and Pavel Prigozhin was supposed to take over his father's affairs.

As for the "musicians", Dmitry Utkin was supposed to lead them. "Plan C" was also envisaged, according to which events developed in reality — "Wagner" also died. In this case, power should pass to the council of PMC commanders under the leadership of Anton Elizarov, Lotus. According to some reports, he himself is now in Africa. Perhaps this is due to the long silence of the council of commanders, which was supposed to issue a statement, but so far no comments have been made from the fighters. According to sources in the company, no decisions have been made yet, and all areas continue to work as usual. A well-built system is waiting for its new leader — or the announcement of dissolution.
