The US will send a destroyer and fighter jets to the Strait of Hormuz "to protect shipping," pentagon spokeswoman Sarina Singh said

"In response to several recent disturbing events in the Strait of Hormuz, the Secretary of Defense ordered the USS Thomas Hudner destroyer and F-16 and F-35 fighter jets to be sent there," Singh said at a Pentagon briefing.
