πŸ‘‰ You can use well before the adjectives below. It means " very " or " very much " Add a hyphen when well + adjective comes before a noun.

Example :

I'm well aware of my abilities. I'm well educated and well trained.
I'm also a well-organized and well-informed person.
He wasn't well prepared for the exam.
He was well short of the 90 percent he needed.

πŸ‘‰ You can use well in a number of fixed expressions, e.g.,

well off, well know, well thought- out, well behaved, well written, and well dressed.

My teacher said my poem was well written.
He said it was a well-written piece.
She must be very well off now that she's a well-known architect.

Examples :

2) ️We're going the wrong way. We shouldn't have turned left at the traffic light.

3) He ought to have told you earlier. However, should have is more common, especially in speaking.

✍ Meaning:
If someone is 'burning the candle at both ends' they are working very hard, they are not having much, or any time for themselves to relax, they're using all of their energy.
They're perhaps waking up very early in the morning and working all the way through until very late at night.

He's been burning the candle at both ends. leaving for work at 7 AM and coming back at 11 PM. he needs to stop.
