BIB - News
Announcements
Happy New Year!
With how much the site has grown over the last few years, we have not done a good job of ensuring the staff has as well. With a new year brings new faces to the staff at Bib. As of this announcement, we've had a few retirements on Staff. The amount of work that has been done in the background from these individuals is immeasurable over the years. They shaped the site into the direction it is now and we are sad to see them move on, but we know they will be around to provide sage advice if ever so needed. Please join us in thanking **** and **** as they move onto new chapters.
We would also like to welcome a few folks to staff: **** and **** have been promoted to Librarian status, and * has been promoted from Librarian to Moderator. When we ask members to join the staff, we do not make this decision lightly. We want people who come onboard with a great understanding and knowledge of our site, and will be great examples of how to give back to Bibliotik. We hope the community is as happy as we are in their decisions to join us.
It has been a while since we've posted an announcement. There is one major user-facing update with a few smaller changes to note:
Comic uploads have been disabled. We've come to the conclusion that everyone else probably had already -- we're not equipped to handle comics in the way other dedicated trackers are, and the whole thing has become a mess of convoluted and sometimes seemingly contradictory rules regarding what is and is not allowed to be uploaded as far as packs. It's just... bad. In the near future, the comic category will be set to neutral leech for a month or so before eliminating the category entirely. Graphic novels will still be allowed in the ebook section (note that graphic novels do NOT include TPBs of modern comics, for the most part) as long as they are in a format we support for ebooks.
If you hadn't noticed, we have RSS links on torrent listings now. RSS feeds have been available here since the dawn of time, but they've been buried, relying on browser functionality to parse them. Since browser makers seem to think that people don't use RSS anymore, that functionality has been removed in a lot of cases, so we brought them to the forefront to make things easier for users.
A minor change to request sorting: Requests can now be sorted by last edit, and by last vote/added bounty. This should make it easier for those dedicated request fillers out there to pinpoint the titles that people want the most (or at least want most recently)!
We've rewritten the uploading rule formerly titled "Public domain material is not allowed" to better reflect the spirit and criteria we've always been applying to determine if something shouldn't be uploaded because it's officially available elsewhere for free. It is now called "Freely licensed editions are not allowed." Please note that this does not introduce any additional restrictions, nor does it allow anything that was previously barred. It should, however, cut down on confusion for the readers.
Our New Years Resolution is to continue to read books, and yours should be to download! To help with this, for the next 7 days, all retail ebooks will be freeload. (This will only include ebooks that were uploaded and labeled as retail before the event started.)
(Note: for those of you who are new or who may have forgotten, freeload is not the same as freeleech. See this explanation for details. Freeload torrents will have a notice on them while freeloading is active. If you download torrents that are not marked freeload, or are still downloading freeload torrents after the event ends, we are not responsible for the effect on your ratio.)
Bibliotik is very proud of the tracker and community we've created, and that could not have been done without all of the 6,259 members currently on the site. Thanks for helping us, and we look forward to further improvements!

PTFiles signups
PTFiles is a general/0day tracker with lots of content uploaded daily.
Registered users 4,465 Active/Total Torrents 11,402/12,929
^((the stats fluctuate week to week since things like old dead torrents are removed, not kept forever like some sites do to fluff their stats))
PTF is a private torrent community which has been around a long time – formerly known as Phoenix Torrents, the current incarnation re-launched in 2008 as PTFiles.
PTF tracker has many options and features such as bonus points (karma), freeleech, member reward schemes like Seeding Rewards, site games, IRC games, etc it would actually take a new user quite some time to get used to it all.
Crazy hour
All torrents started during each 60min Crazy Hour, are Freeleech but once crazy hour is over the Freeleech on the file finishes if not complete (most files should complete within an hour). During this hour, your uploaded amounts are tripled. Seedback rules still apply so be sure to keep seeding back to 1:1 ratio or for at least the minimum required 48 hours.
Uploads
Uploads are both Rar'd and Not Rar'd formats, all major Scene and P2P groups are included by the uploaders.
Seedback
The site does have a mandatory 48 hour seedback time on downloads (including FreeLeech downloads).
Themes
There are pre-defined user themes, as well as having customizable themes which each member can define.
Invite Applications URL: [https://ptfiles.net/register]
Special Invite Code (for the first 500 who apply): b77f770ba9cb9ef37db4920fc3d8406f
(copy and paste that code without any blank spaces into the Register screen)

GazelleGames News
Hello GazelleGames
We recently experienced some downtime due to a planned maintenance. We intended to work on two things:
Some much-needed upgrades to the OS on servers that reached their EOL.
Upgrades to the database servers.
Unfortunately, we encountered some DB corruption while performing the OS upgrades. As a result, the downtime got extended beyond the intended duration. Because of that issue and the already lengthy downtime, we decided to schedule the database upgrades to a later point and brought the site back online.
We also had to rely on a full backup from 6:25 AM, January 16 due to the DB corruption. This means that any action or change taken after that point in the 17 hours leading up to the maintenance were lost.
Update: Due to those issues, we've decided to enable global freeleech over the remaining weekend. The freeleech will last until 23:59 January 19 site time. Any data downloaded during this time will not count against your ratio. Now's the time to snatch your bookmarks!
We apologize for the inconvenience.

Torrent Helper 📢
GazelleGames News Hello GazelleGames We recently experienced some downtime due to a planned maintenance. We intended to work on two things: Some much-needed upgrades to the OS on servers that reached their EOL. Upgrades to the database servers. Unfortunately…
Update 2: We're aware of an ongoing issue regarding the site not recognizing seeding torrents. Please keep your torrents seeding while we work on resolving the issue. This can result in temporary HnRs, which will automatically disappear once seeding is registered properly again. No permanent HnRs will be added to your account because of this issue.
Update 3: We had HDD corruption on the database server. We had to rebuild the database server using the same full backup from January 16th. We have extended global freeleech until Sunday and added double drop chance.
We apologize for the inconvenience.
