NotWhat.CD News - Freeleech picks
HAPPY HOLIDAYS NWCD!
Wherever you are and whomever you're with, here's to a peaceful and relaxing holiday season for all. Thank you to everyone who has, or is still contributing to our Birthday round of FHM picks. Thelonious Monk has proved to be a great hit! We hope you can all find some time to listen to music over the next few weeks and check out our Christmas FHM picks below.
We'd also like to highlight your favorite albums from the last year as community freeleech picks, enabling us all to hopefully discover a few great albums we might not have heard of. If you'd like to participate, please send the torrent group link of your top 2019 album via a staff pm with the title "2019 FL". If it's not been uploaded yet, please create a request for it and link us to the request instead.
New FLAC uploads for these artists which also meet the NWCD folder naming standards and the general uploading rules will be eligible for freeleech status. If you believe your upload meets these standards, please report it as "Other" so we can set it to FL. We ask that you do this so that we can refrain from running scripts which place unnecessary strain on our resources. If you spot a release that should be FL, please let us know by reporting it as "Other".

PassThePopcorn News - New Year, New Rules!
What a decade it's been for cinema! The 2010s were marked by the explosive rise of streaming services and superheroes, corporate consolidation (at this point I almost expect Disney to buy us out), Hollywood scandals, a push for representation, great flicks (and Cats, amirite?), new talents as well as the passing of legends. Here's to the next one, and navigating it with PTP at our sides! Your whole staff team joins me in wishing you all happy holidays, and all the best for the years to come.
New Year, New Rules!
After a lot of back and forth, we're proud to finally announce our new upload rules. On the menu, lots of rewording and disambiguation, formalization of long-standing internal policies, AVI, MP4 and ISO going the way of the dodo, and even a new slot for UHD-sourced 1080p x265 encodes. You can find the full rule set here. To give you enough time to discuss and adapt, they'll go live a week from now, on the 01-01-2020. We'll keep an eye on your comments on the discussion thread and answer your concerns if any: one of my long term goals here is to be more agile with rule changes, your input would be much appreciated.
About invites
There's been an uptick in issues related to invites and so we'd like to take a moment to remind all users about our invite rules. Invites should only be sent to personal friends, people you actually know and have a relationship with. If our account management team finds out you just handed out one, you'll be at risk of losing your invite privileges and/or your account. Furthermore, you're up to a certain point responsible for the people you invite. If one of your invitees turns out to be a seriously bad apple, we will consider disabling your invite privileges. Make sure they're at least somewhat up to speed with our rules, from the small things (signing up from a VPN is not allowed and would require a chat on #ptp-disabled), to the bigger things (ratio cheating would be an incredibly dumb thing to do).
The 2010s Popscars
Two weeks ago we called you to look back at this past decade, and nominate your 10 absolute favorite movies, shorts, or miniseries. I'd first like to extend a big thank you to VIPs for their efforts in respectively collecting and treating the data, in a fashion we wouldn't have been able to match. I'm now proud to announce the results of the 2010s Popscars, don't forget to go check out the full goodies over on the discussion thread!
If you missed some of the best, now is the time to catch up! The 54 most nominated entries (12 and above) of the contest will be made freeleech for the next two weeks, until 01-08-2020, 00:00 UTC.
As is tradition, checkers and staff would like to recommend you a few movies. They will also be made freeleech for the next two weeks, until 01-08-2020, 00:00 UTC.
