An Unconventional "Do Nothing" Technique That Will Make You A Better Trader

We live in a fast world.

News moving at a breakneck pace, everybody's chasing money, tons of new content published online every second, opportunities coming and going...

And as a result, everybody's addicted to constant dopamine hits.

The worst part?

All these sensations and dopamine desires are non-stop every second you're awake.

Even when you're not on your phone.

Try thinking of something else during your trading session, going back in memories or something...

and next thing you know, you're removing your SL or doubling your lot size.

Ooops!

All downhill from there.

The solution?
The Do-Nothing Exercise

Sit in front of your trading charts.

Straight posture.

Now let your attention and imagination go wild.

Think about anything you want, the craziest 1:50 RRR winning trade, the worst possible loss... anything.

BUT

Notice when your attention goes there and view yourself from a 3rd person perspective.

Do NOT be captured by those thoughts. Just let them run while you observe and stay neutral.

For some of you, this may sound weird and uncertain at first.

Practice it a few times and what you'll find is that you slowly become immune to any thoughts and distractions as you trade.

Will they still appear in your mind?

Of course.

But they'll only be weak noise in the background that cannot stop you from following your plan, no matter what.

Just pure calm, focus, and ruthless pursuit of trading profits.
πŸ”₯7
The bad part about this exercise?

It takes time.

No matter how long you've traded, pretty much everybody is easily addictied to these dopamine hits these days.

And it takes a lot of practice to un-learn these entrenched habits.

You could learn and practice it all on your own... OR have someone who's mastered this aspect of the game, trade for you - risk free.

More on that tomorrow...

How A Single Trade Setup on XAUUSD Made Over 10% on a $200k Prop Firm Challenge πŸ†

What charts I looked at.

How I decided to enter.

How I managed the trade.

How I closed.

Let’s go! πŸš€
Some of my strategies work very well with XAUUSD.

I like it cause it's a highly liquid pair with volatile moves on pretty much any trading day of the week.

So I pulled up the chart.

What made this particular trade opportunity so appealing was the following:

1) I saw my market sentiment indicator showing that the retail "herd" was mostly long on average

(i.e. the herd is usually wrong so the market will likely go short)

2) Noticed that Gold fell through below my EMA on the H1 timeframe & had a slightly bearish outlook on H4 too.
πŸ‘4
πŸ‘6
Once I saw a small break of the support zone on H1, that was enough of my entry criteria to make me decide to go in a SELL trade.

Quickly glanced at the M15 timeframe to find a higher point of entry and opened the trade.
πŸ‘4
Risked over 2% on this setup.

Higher than what I usually do for most trades.

But the market sentiment indicator, the price action signs on the charts, and most importantly, the high upside with my dynamic trailing stop-loss system...

Those all made me confident this was an opportunity not to be missed.
With my trading stop loss system set up, I could've walked away from the charts and let the market do its work.

However, after I saw a small (but potentially strong) support zone begin to form on H1, I took some smaller partial profits.

And then just let the trailing SL keep the trades running until the account reached 10% profit.

β€”-

A few hours later?

βœ… The 10% target is hit!

All that's left is to take a single 0.01 lot trade every day to meet the "minimum trading days" requirement for the prop firm Challenge (this one was FTMO).
A few lessons:

πŸ“ A trading system needs to be effective, first and foremost.

Not complex, not even necessarily "advanced". Only advanced enough to work but simple enough to implement on a daily basis.

πŸ“ Realizing that you need to "be careful" and "manage your risk" is one step.

The next, higher-level step is understanding when to act with conviction and put more on the line for a higher reward vs. when to stick to your standard rules.

Yes, all the top traders made their fortunes by managing their risk.

But NOT by being gun shy.

πŸ“ A well-calculated dynamic Trailing Stop Loss that rides with the trend will increase the profits on your winning trades like nothing else.
πŸ‘3
Obviously, you might still have some Qs left.

"What exact 'market sentiment indicator' did you use?"

"How do I know when to 'manage risk' and 'be cautious' vs. when to act with convictions and go 'all in'?"

"How do you use a 'dynamic trailing SL' and by how many pips do you trail? Does it depend on the pair you trade?"

All very good questions.

And although I don't have the time to answer them in-depth today, there's a surprise coming very soon.

An opportunity that will answer all those questions + accelerate your trading progress like nothing else I've seen.

Stay tuned! πŸ’ͺ

How To Achieve In 90 Days What Most Traders Barely Achieve In 3 Years

A few days ago I posted this thread on Instagram ☝️☝️

(Feel free to pause and read it)

And although the blueprint laid out is the fastest & most effective way I know to become a top 1% trader...

it does have one minor FLAW!

But the best part is that it can be easily fixed.

And once it is, this roadmap has as close to a 100% success rate as you can get.

So what exactly is that flaw?

It's being forced to play for low stakes due to low capital

Let me explain:
Although following every step in that blueprint makes you learn & progress in the skill of trading at a very rapid pace (without risking much), you're still likely starting off with a smaller bankroll.

If you learn how to trade a strategy that brings in 10%-20% monthly returns within a few months (very solid progress)

Guess what?

You're still playing for low stakes starting with a few thousand $ in your trading account (or even less).

Made 10% with a $5,000 account?

$500 is cool but it hardly covers the bills AND you risked losing $5k to make it happen.

(Not to mention you're always more likely to make emotional decisions and lose with your own account compared to demo or prop firms)

BUT if you had access to a 6-figure funded account where you take an 80% share of your profits?

Now we're talking! πŸ’΅
Unskilled trader + small account
= loses small

Unskilled trader + big account
= loses BIG

Skilled trader + small account
= wins small

Skilled trader + big account
= wins BIG
πŸ‘12
This is why prop firm funded accounts are an opportunity with such a massive upside.

The main problem with them?

92% of traders FAIL their challenge and it's like dropping the first domino.

Soon after, they catch themselves betting big on over-leveraged positions on their personal account, revenge-trading, buying more courses & getting more info (yet still not seeing how prop firm challenges are actually passed)...

and before they know, they have 4 failed challenges on their "resume", and ready to kiss all their FX trading dreams goodbye πŸ‘‹
