🎯 TOEFL Writing Tip: Email Task🐳

In the TOEFL Write an Email task, don’t just answer the question—match your tone to the person you’re writing to.

🔹 Formal: professor, manager, university staff

I am writing to inquire about…
I would appreciate it if you could…

🔹 Semi-formal: classmate, colleague, acquaintance

I wanted to ask if…
Could you please let me know…?

🔹 Informal: close friend

I just wanted to let you know…
Let me know what you think!

💡 Quick strategy: Before you start writing, ask yourself:

Who am I writing to? → Why am I writing? → What do I need from them?

This will help you choose the right tone, vocabulary, and level of formality.

🎯 TOEFL Pronunciation Tip | Linking

In English, words are not always pronounced separately. Sometimes, the final sound of one word connects to the first sound of the next word.

For example:

❌ Pick / it / up
✅ Pick‿it‿up

🗣️ Instead of saying each word separately, connect them and make your speech sound more natural and fluent.

💡 Practice:
Choose 5 short sentences and repeat each one 3 times. Focus on linking the words together.

🎯 Remember:
Good pronunciation is not only about individual sounds. Natural rhythm and connected speech matter too.

🎯 اصطلاح کاربردی برای TOEFL Speaking

🔹 It makes a big difference

📌 Meaning:
یعنی «تأثیر زیادی دارد» یا «خیلی فرق ایجاد می‌کند».

🗣 Example for TOEFL Speaking:
I prefer studying in a quiet environment because it makes a big difference in my concentration.

🎯 Upgrade your Speaking:
❌ It is very important for my concentration.
✅ It makes a big difference in my concentration.

🔥 Grammar Tip:
Despite
vs.
Although

یکی از اشتباهات رایج در TOEFL Writing & Speaking:
❌ Despite it was raining, we went out. ✅ Despite the rain, we went out. ✅ Although it was raining, we went out.

📌 قانون:
Despite + noun / V-ing
Although + subject + verb
مثال تافلی:
Despite facing financial difficulties, many students continue their education.
یا:
Although many students face financial difficulties, they continue their education.

🎯 TOEFL Tip: استفاده‌ی درست از despite / although می‌تواند جمله‌های شما را متنوع‌تر و آکادمیک‌تر کند.

🎯 TOEFL Reading Tip

Don’t immediately look for the meaning of a word in Vocabulary questions!

First, read the whole sentence and pay attention to the words before and after the target word. Very often, the context gives you enough clues to understand its meaning.

🔑 Quick Formula:
Word → Context → Predict → Options

See the word → Check the context → Predict the meaning → Then check the answer choices.

💡 Pro Tip: If you can predict a general meaning before looking at the options, you’re much less likely to choose a distractor.

🧠 TOEFL Grammar Trap: Inversion

One of the more advanced grammar structures tested in TOEFL is inversion after negative or limiting adverbs.

Hardly / Scarcely / Barely … when

When a sentence begins with hardly, scarcely, or barely, the auxiliary verb comes before the subject.

❌ Hardly I had arrived when it started raining.

✅ Hardly had I arrived when it started raining.

🔑 Structure

Hardly + had + subject + past participle (V3) + when + clause

Example:

Hardly had the researchers completed the experiment when they discovered a major error.

⚠️ TOEFL Trap:

Use when with hardly/scarcely/barely.

❌ Hardly had I arrived than…
✅ Hardly had I arrived when…

🎧 TOEFL Listening Tip

Don’t try to write down everything you hear.
Focus on the speaker’s main idea, purpose, attitude, and changes in the discussion. Take short notes using keywords, not full sentences.

💡 Remember:
Listen for meaning, not words.
You don’t need to remember every detail—you need to understand why the speaker said it.

نکته امروز TOEFL Mindset 💙

❌ I am agree with you.

✅ I agree with you.

🔹 Agree خودش یک فعل است، بنابراین قبل از آن am / is / are نمی‌آوریم.

مثلاً:

✅ I agree with you.
✅ She agrees with me.
❌ She is agree with me.

📌 نکته:
برای بیان «موافق بودن» بگو:

Subject + agree + with + person

💙 TOEFL Mindset | Listening Pro Tip 🎧

🧠 تکنیک Prediction Gap | پیش‌بینی ادامه صحبت

هنگام Listening، به‌جای تمرکز روی تک‌تک کلمات، پیش‌بینی کن گوینده در ادامه چه اطلاعاتی ارائه می‌دهد.

🔹 مثال:
“The experiment produced unexpected results. Therefore, the researchers decided to…”

از خودت بپرس: پژوهشگران احتمالاً چه تصمیمی می‌گیرند؟

✅ نکته طلایی: قبل از شنیدن ادامه صحبت، مسیر منطقی آن را پیش‌بینی کن. این کار به پردازش فعال اطلاعات و درک ارتباط میان ایده‌ها کمک می‌کند.

💡 Listen actively, not passively!
