TIL that in 2000, a man named Danny Stewart found an abandoned newborn baby in a NYC subway station. The baby went unclaimed for 3 months. Stewart later attended a court hearing, and the judge asked him if he wanted to adopt the infant. Stewart said yes. He and his partner named the baby Kevin.

TIL production of alarm clocks in the US stopped in 1942, to direct resources towards the war effort. In 1944 production was restarted due to the number of workers arriving late because broken alarm clocks, and being unable to buy new ones.

TIL during filming of The Toast of New Orleans, Mario Lanza kept trying to french kiss Kathryn Grayson which was made even worse by his garlic breath. Costume designer Helen Rose sewed brass into Grayson's gloves, so that anytime Lanza tried to kiss her, she hit him with the brass-filled glove.
