🚨𝗕𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗚 - A massive explosion and fire has engulfed a petroleum truck beneath the Fairfield Avenue Overpass, prompting the closure of I-95 in both directions in Norwalk, Connecticut.

The crash, involving a tractor-trailer, a petroleum truck, and a passenger vehicle, occurred around 5:30 a.m.

Governor Ned Lamont confirmed no serious injuries but stated an extended closure as state police investigate.

The Fairfield Ave overpass has sustained serious damage, requiring immediate evaluation.

Alternate routes are required, with significant traffic delays expected.

Connecticut: Norwalk Fire Department has knocked down the fires on I-95 in Norwalk and only minor injuries reported.

I-95 both North and Southbound remains closed in Norwalk in the area of Exits 14 and 15 due to a earlier tractor trailer accident and subsequent fire.  The Fairfield Ave bridge overpass is also closed due to the fire.

Rowayton residents should expect additional traffic in town in unexpected places as vehicles work their way around this closure. Please plan additional time for any travel today and avoid driving in the area if at all possible.
