HOW LONG IS THE TAIL OF COMET LEONARD? Astronomers have a problem.
The tail of Comet Leonard is so long, it doesn't fit in their cameras.
"I finally imaged Comet Leonard with a wide-enough angle lens in order to find out the real length of its tail," reports Daniele Gasparri from Chile's Atacama desert.
"It is 60 degrees long.To put this in perspective, the tail of Comet Leonard is more than twice the size of the Big Dipper and 120 times wider than the full Moon.
"It's impressive," says Gasparri.

1490 Ch'ing-yang event
The Ch'ing-yang event of 1490 (also Ch'ing-yang, Chi-ing-yang or Chíing-yang meteor shower) is a presumed meteor shower or air burst in Qingyang in March or April 1490.
The area was in the province of Shaanxi, but is now part of Gansu.
Chinese annuals describe the event as a shower of stones from the sky.
In 2007 astronomers determined that the annual January Quadrantid meteor shower may have originated with the disintegration of Comet C/1490 Y1,
approximately a century after it was first identified in 1490 by Chinese, Japanese, and Korean astronomers.
A connection with asteroid (196256) 2003 EH1 has also been suggested.
