January 17, 2023 2026Z (UTC)... Seen as a pulse on RADAR , coming from the NEXRAD RADAR station, this "pulse" occurred as the klystron was being either tuned or brought back online.

The NEXRAD RADAR pulse (slang term HAARP ring) occurred actually in high frequency, not microwave -- as the NEXRAD klystron tube is being calibrated, pulses are done bringing the RADAR back up to full power, these go out in all directions not in a beam like the normal microwave does. Pulses can happen anywhere from 19mhz upwards to several hundred before powering up fully into ghz output. The analog tube actually spans the spectrum going up to 2.7ghz as it is powering up from 0.

A piece of Comet ZTF's tail has been pinched off and is being carried away by the solar wind.

ETNA VOLCANO - ERUPTION UPDATE

It seems no longer active. According to webcam imagery and the impression of one of our friends, mountain guide on Etna, the lava flow at the southern base of the SE crater has likely stopped.
However, the recorded volcanic tremor has dropped as well during the past 24-48 hours, suggesting that this is likely indeed the case,marking the end of the most recent effusive episode that had started in late November last year.

The lava flow from the vent at the southern base of the SE crater is active again this morning, and a new lava flow has been advancing on the surface.
Webcam imagery indicates that this new surface flow started to advance from the vent during the early morning hours.

A new deep M6.8 earthquake has struck down at approximately 600km below the South American plate (Argentina).
M 6.8 - 24 km SW of Campo Gallo, Argentina

As with all other deep earthquakes, we watch for a shallower larger potential earthquake next to the deep event spreading out several thousand miles in each direction along the nearest (and adjacent) plate boundaries.

The areas we watch surrounding the deep quake, the antipode of the deep quakes, and the opposite side of the Pacific! This means a large scale watch in all three/four areas and most likely all 3-4 areas will be struck by something noteworthy above M6.0 within the next 7-10 days.

Sun activity: Spectacular prominence eruption

The SUVI 304 angstroms imager observed the prominence lifting off the sun around 12:30 UTC on January 20, 2023. The plasma rope and resulting bright CME moved into the SOHO/LASCO C2 field of view around 13:32 UTC January 20, 2023. The CME headed mostly away from Earth, but initial estimates are for a glancing blow.
There was an eruption associated with a C5.3 flare from AR3190 around 13:47 UTC following the prominence eruption. This produced a small fast CME moving just behind the bright CME.
