3200 Phaethon,an active Apollo asteroid with an orbit that brings it closer to the Sun than any other named asteroid.
For this reason, it was named after the Greek myth of Phaëthon, son of the sun god Helios.
Out of desire to have his parentage confirmed, travels to the sun-god's palace in the east. There he is recognised by his father & asks him for the privilege to drive his chariot for a single day. Despite Helios' fervent warnings and attempts to talk him out of it,
