A new eruption started at Maunaloa volcano in the evening of 27 November at about 11:30 PM local time, it seems to open a new chain of vents producing small lava fountains (so-called "curtain of fire"), where they form a spreading field of lava slowly covering the crater floor.
Therefore, a decision has been made by authorities and the HVO volcano observatory to rise Volcanic Alert Level to "Red".
