Thousands evacuated as floods and landslides cause chaos in East China's Fujian
Severe flooding and landslides wreaked havoc in southeast China, leading to the evacuation of over 35,000 locals according to the provincial flood control office.
Drone footage captured in Fujian Province on Sunday shows the aftermath in the flood-hit Nanping City, with submerged houses and cars as well as light traffic on multiple bridges surrounding the area.
According to reports, latest round of rainfall has impacted 179,800 people, damaging 12,350 hectares of crops, raising water 3.65m above the warning level in places, with total damage estimated to be around $225 million.
