Although the Pennysylvania Dutch were native-born Americans and had a unique culture, they could not escape this threat either, and so they hid their Pennsylvania Dutch heritage to survive.

Dieter Schwartz, the pseudonym of SS Major (SS-Brigadeführer) Franz Albert Six, Discovered in the 1930s that the enemies of Nazism were engaged in a deliberate strategy abroad to obscure National Socialist ideology. Their goal was to make the National Socialist worldview a mysterious, confusing and remote ideology.

"Any attack on the National Socialist Worldview is an attack on the National Socialist State, since the State rests on that Worldview. These attacks which come especially from German émigrés, accuse us of materialism, anti-Christianity or Caesarism. Other emigrants have claimed we have embarked on a crusade of racist bestiality, or collectivist absolutism. Others argue that National Socialism is linked to Theosophy.
