Self My 10 year old daughter had an interesting way to calculate 42 divided by 3 mentally
I asked her to answer 42 / 3 mentally to check her thought process. My thought process is 30 of the 42 is 10 threes, and the remaining 12 is 4 threes, then 10 plus 4 is 14.
i asked her thought process, and she said, 42 is 7 x 6, and 6 has 2 threes in it, so double the 7, equals to 14.
I find the process not the correct one for this situation, but at the same time I find it humorously smart
