Let’s face it: people have been expecting a crisis for so long, consciously or subconsciously, that they are almost RELIEVED at something like the Corona-virus happening. The scientists can make “sense” of some data, the politicians can pretend they know what’s going on and what’s best even when orchestrating a controlled demolition of the economy. Rightwingers and leftists have wet dreams over the nationalist uprising / proletarian revolution. Borders are closed and yet as open as ever, bankers snort coke in their home bathrooms instead of the office.

Yet the house of cards that is our corrupt globalist world is toppling in slow motion, with some fundaments being shored up with false optimism or ersatz apocalypticism. Whatever floats your boat.

Is this the big one? Is all the built up pressure over the last several years finally about to be released? Those unspoken words of resentment, those ditches dug around and between us? The crumbling sense of solidarity with “refugees”, the corrupt politicians brazenly spitting on the people?

Are people realizing that really even BEFORE Corona shut down public life and put us into a concentrated 24/7 hellish news cycle… we didn’t really have a society worth upholding anymore anyway?

Here in Germany, we nervously listen to the sermons of the scientist-priests, pray to the machine-spirit of the ventilators keeping mortality rates low. And for what? Sure, so grandma can survive. And apart from that? What is a country staying alive for really ? More garbage consumerism, unrewarded work ethic, becoming no-man’s land?

At least in the US it’s mask off, police shutting down and lives potentially sacrificed to the sacred stock market squiggly line.

And here… the people stay put and wait, but we know not for what. Or why.

I mean it’s not like we kept Accelerationism a secret it’s not our fault everyone kept intentionally misrepresenting it as advocating illegal shit. The system is on a terminal trajectory as overly complex systems inevitably are. It’s literally a law of thermodynamics. Entropy goes up. The fantasy that this could go on forever has been a huge cope and one that everyone has had to buy in to as the price of admission to the bullshit carnival that is American mainstream politics.

Well guess what, that world is dead. It’s not buried but a multipolar world is a fait accompli at this point. The legitimacy of the western governments is the weakest it’s ever been and the economic system is terminally wounded. There is no going back to the world of even a month ago.

Was the Chinese virus a bolt out of the blue? Sure. But I’ve been saying for years bioweapons scare me more than nukes for reasons I hope you all begin to understand now. But if it wasn’t this it would have been something else. We are seeing the twilight of the gods right now and people are mad their standard of living might be imperiled.

It’s easy to mock boomers for mortgaging their children’s future for comfort and wealth but that is the Faustian bargain everyone seems desperate to strike now anyway. How many more fake trillions must we steal from future generations to postpone that day of reckoning? This thing was never sustainable, I’m sorry we saw it and called it out while the rest of you were busy coping and trying to be the kings of ashes.
