so basically the title "the fault in our stars" means the fault in our fate. the term "stars" is like Shakespearian language. Shakespeare uses stars as a word of fate all through romeo and juliet
and his other plays and when in tfios he quotes shakespeare it says "the faults not in our stars dear brutus, its in ourselves" ((or something like that)) he's saying the fault is not in our fate but it's in ourselves. it's like the saying "it's written in the stars" meaning your fate is all laid out amongst the stars.
and depending if you believe in fate or free will is a whole other thing
but the meaning of the title is theirs a fault in their fate and its already laid out for them and predetermined. they have one destiny and they can't change it🙌🏼
